Pray-Declare-Decree

I tend to talk a lot quietly in my head but we've been reminded this week about the importance of speaking/ declaring God's Word ALOUD.
* We should follow King David's example to declare and decree...Psalm 2:7
- Look in the Word what is God declaring over your situation and then decree it (that means open your mouth) - ️
* Romans 10:17. So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
We cannot walk with God unless we agree with Him.
* Amos 3:3 ...how can two walk together, unless they agree ...

To follow this principle can be life-changing for us because when we meditate on His Word by speaking out and declaring what He says about us, we are releasing our faith and cooperating with Him to see His good plans come to pass in our lives.

Each time a thought comes to your mind that doesn't agree with God's Word, declare the truth of Scripture out loud, and you will find the wrong thought disappearing. (Joyce Meyer)

Don't get weary, keep on doing it even though it might take some time. Make it a lifestyle!!

Praise-His-Name

More than once this week Trevor and I experienced breakthroughs after just singing praises to our Almighty God and praying "Let Your will be done". The Lord confirmed it this morning, waking me with the song "Praise the hurt away!"

* 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 Make your life a prayer. [18] And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God's perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus.
* James 1:2-4 My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! [3] For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up in you the power of endurance. [4] And then as your endurance grows even stronger, it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking.
* 1 John 4:4 ...you can be certain that you belong to God and have conquered them, for the One who is living in you is far greater than the one who is in the world.
* Romans 8:37 TPT
[37] Yet even in the midst of all these things, we triumph over them all, for God has made us to be more than conquerors, and his demonstrated love is our glorious victory over everything!

The-Risen-King

Meditating on the resurrection of Jesus I'm so grateful that His grave is empty so that we can be "full". Full of abundant life, having the same Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead living inside us. (Romans 8:11)
* I'm also reminded of Is. 53:5. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
(1 Pet.2:24; Matthew 8:17; Psalm 103:3)
Now we need to..."Shine your light and let the whole world see, We're singing for the glory of the risen King, Jesus"

Be-imitators-of-God

After praying for the "Blessing for today" I woke up from a dream.
1Corinthians 13:25,26 reminds us that we are one body and that we should look after each other.
* We can read about the compassion of Jesus in:
Exodus 33:19; Is. 30:18, 49:10 and 13, 54:10, 63:7; Jam. 5:11; Psalm 103:13, 116:5, 145:9; 2 Corinthians 1:3,4; Matthew 9:35, 14:14, 15:32, 20:34.
* We are commanded to do the same...
Is. 58:10; Gal. 6:2; Romans 12:15; 1Thess. 5:11; 2 Corinthians 1:4; Philippians 2:4.
Don't get weary of doing good! Gal.6:9.
2 Corinthians 10:5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.
* Matthew 9:36-37 Jesus' heart was deeply moved with compassion...
[37] He turned to his disciples and said, "The harvest is huge and ripe! But there are not enough harvesters to bring it all in.
John said: Darkness is passing away and the true light is shining. 1 John 2:8
Be the light, be the change, be in tune with our Lord and Savior, who is restoring all things to the original plan. Col. 1:18-20; Is.9:6,7

The-Golden-Rule

We all know the sermon on the mount/ The beatitudes in Matthew 5. When I read it in Luke 6 from the TPT it was a fresh reminder of how we should shine our lights.

* Love your enemies and do something wonderful for them in return.
* Bless the one that curses you.
* Pray for those who mistreat and harass you.
* Serve and minister to those who despise you.

* Give your shirt as well if they take your coat.
* Luke 6:27-30 MSG If someone takes unfair advantage of you, use the occasion to practice the servant life. No more payback. (Romans 12:19)

Live generously.

The golden rule:

The way you want others to treat you is how you should treat everyone else.

I-belong-to-You

In a dream the Lord reminded us of the following:

* We need to GROW in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour. (2 Pet. 3:18)
* We have the gift of discernment and accuracy. (Is.49:2)
* We are sanctified through the blood of Jesus and have salvation in Jesus as our protection. (1 Thess.5:18)
* We are strong and courageous leaders. (Jos.1:6)

BUT
- Staying in tune with our Lord we are clean on the inside and it's seen on the outside
- We are New Creations, New Wine Skins with New Wine
- Desiring pure Spiritual milk on a daily basis, we partake of the right seeds, sowing the right seeds at the right time in the right place (as the Spirit leads) we reap the right harvest!

Thankful-Grateful

Psalms 50:23 The life that pleases me is a life lived in the GRATITUDE of grace, always choosing to walk with me in what is right. This is the sacrifice I desire from you. If you do this, more of my salvation will unfold for you.”

In this verse the first thing that caught my eye was "life that pleases God". Don't we all want to please God? So what pleases Him according to this verse:
* Gratitude. What is the difference between gratitude and thankfulness? You have heard the saying: "Have an attitude of gratitude!"
Gratitude is a general appreciation of life, while thankfulness is a response to a particular event or experience.
* Choose to walk with Him in what is right.

- Psalm 34:8-14 TPT
! If you fear/revere the Lord, you will feast with plenty.
! Pursue Him passionately and you'll never lack any good thing.
! Drink deeply of the pleasures of God.
! Experience His mercies.
! Worship Him in awe and wonder.

Let us purposefully walk trough the day looking for "WOW GOD" moments and give Him the worship, honor and glory He deserves

Miracles-from-heaven

In the movie "Miracles from heaven" based on true events, Christy Beam, mother of Annabel lost her faith after her daughter got very sick. Anna fell down inside a hollow tree where she had an encounter with Jesus after which she was healed. Christy then quoted Albert Einstein:
You can live life as if nothing is a miracle or as if everything is a miracle.
Let's ask the Holy Spirit to open our eyes to recognise the miracles around us every day. It will be different for each of us. From the One day Lilly predicting the rain to someone getting saved.
Miracles are God's way of letting us know that He is here with us but we need to trust Him in faith.

Rest-in-me

After the message last week that I am never alone and God is with me through every situation (good or bad) His comforting words this week are: " Rest in Me!"
For me it equals TRUST!!
* Exodus 33:14 The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
* Hebrews 4:10-11 As we enter into God's faith-rest life we cease from our own works, just as God celebrates his finished works and rests in them. [11] So then we must be eager to experience this faith-rest life, so that no one falls short by following the same pattern of doubt and unbelief.
* Psalms 116:7-8 I said to myself, “Relax and rest. God has showered you with blessings. Soul, you've been rescued from death; Eye, you've been rescued from tears; And you, Foot, were kept from stumbling.”
* Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
* Psalms 91:1-2 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. [2] This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.

I-am-not-alone

The whole week the song "I am not alone" was playing in my head.

Rain-from-Heaven

This week when Trevor and I went for a walk on the beach to the Umfolozi mouth, we saw this huge amount of debris. Due to the heavy rains inland all this dirt and rubbish are washing down the river into the sea and then the ocean works it out again on the beach.
This made me think of my spiritual life. The song "Healing rain" came to mind.
Sometimes we allow junk to enter into our lives when not sticking close to the Lord, listening to His guidance and leading that's why we need healing rain daily.
!! Junk pollutes the environment, perfect love heals it!
* Isaiah 45:8 “Shower down righteousness, O heavens above. Let the clouds drip with deliverance! Let earth's womb open and bear salvation's fruit, with righteousness rising up beside it! I, Yahweh, have created all of them!
* Isaiah 55:10 “As the snow and rain that fall from heaven do not return until they have accomplished their purpose, soaking the earth and causing it to sprout with new life, providing seed to sow and bread to eat.
!!
So for me rain symbolises heavenly blessings, cleansing and fruitfulness.

Pondering-our-Fathers-Love

I'm still pondering on our Father's love. For a very long time in my life I didn't really think of or appreciate the Father's love until I realized that Jesus was sent to restore our relationship with the Father. The following scriptures became precious to me...
* John 16:27
For the Father tenderly loves you, because you love me and believe that I've come from God.
* John 14:21
Those who truly love me are those who obey my commands. Whoever passionately loves me will be passionately loved by my Father. And I will passionately love him in return and will reveal myself to him.”
* Ephesians 1:3
Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm has already been lavished upon us as a love gift from our wonderful heavenly Father, the Father of our Lord Jesus - all because he sees us wrapped into Christ. This is why we celebrate him with all our hearts!

1 John 4:15 Those who give thanks that Jesus is the Son of God live in God, and God lives in them

How-Deep-Fathers-Love

During my quiet time this week the following stood out for me. May it also encourage you!!!!
* FAITH
- In Luke 8 we read about the woman who got healed. Jesus said: "Your FAITH in Me released your healing".
* ANSWERED PRAYER
- 1 John 5:14 .Since we have this confidence, we can also have great boldness before him, for if we ask anything agreeable to his will, he will hear us.
- Isaiah 65:24 - Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear.
* HIS WRAPAROUND PRESENCE
- Psalms 16:8, 11- for I experience your wraparound presence every moment. Because of you, I know the path of life, as I taste the fullness of joy in your presence. At your right side I experience divine pleasures forevermore!
- Psalms 62:7 - His wraparound presence is all I need, for the Lord is my Savior, my hero, and my life-giving strength.
- Psalms 140:6-7 O Lord, you are my God and my saving strength! My Hero-God, you wrap yourself around me to protect me.

Delight-in-the-Lord

We looked into Psalm 37 again this week. What a beautiful, encouraging Psalm.
It starts off telling us not to be jealous about the so called wealth and prosperity of the wicket because the Lord laughs at them and they will SOON shrivel up and quickly fade away.
BUT
For the righteous there are só many promises:
* We'll feast on His faithfulness
* We'll inherit every promise and enjoy abundant peace
* We will not be put to shame and will always have enough
* The Lord directs our steps and DELIGHTS in every detail of our lives
* He'll lift us up even if we stumble badly
* We'll never be forsaken nor any of our children begging for bread
* We'll give generously and our children will be blessed and become a blessing
* We'll have a peaceful, prosperous future with a happy ending.
A few things from our side:
- Trust and hide in Him, walk in justice, give Him the right to direct your life, have a humble heart, find your delight and true pleasure in Him and quiet your heart and wait patiently!
- Psalms 37:40 TPT
[40] Because of their faith in him, their daily portion will be a Father's help and deliverance from evil. This is true for all who turn to hide themselves in him!

Esther-Humble-and-Obedient

I would like to share a few truths that stood out for me when I studied the book of Esther.
Even though she was a beauty queen she was humble and obedient.
She didn't haste (Proverbs 18:2) and waited on the Lord's guidance and leading.
Esther understood the power of corporate prayer.
She was willing to loose her life for her people (Jesus did loose His life for us)
The enemy saw the results of serving a living God in her and her fellow believers and they were afraid!

If we look at the life of Hamman we see the harm you mean for others will fall on your own head (Matthew 7:2; Gal. 6:7)

Mordecai on the other hand showed us to be humble, content and faithful with little putting himself in the position to be promoted. (Zech. 4:10)

Best-Friend-Jesus

Last week we here in St Lucia were very excited about the mouth that opened again after many months. Unfortunately many fresh water fish washed up along the coast.
The first scripture that came to mind was Proverbs 14:12
* There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.
For those fish the water looked the same but one was life giving and the other life taking.
Also there was a storm and the current was strong in the wrong direction for those fish.
Sometimes we need to stand strong and resist...
Be careful for peer pressure and wrong friends ...
* Proverbs 13:20
Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.
* Proverbs 18:24
There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.

Lets draw closer and follow the example of our real best Friend...JESUS!
* John 15:15 Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.

TRUE-Fasting

I would like to share some precious notes on Isaiah 58. A few promises that stood out for me were in verse
* 8 - The Lord's favor
* SUDDEN healing
* Our righteousness marches before us
* Protection from ALL harm
* 9 - Answered prayer
* 10 - Our gloom/darkness will turn into noonday splendor!
* 11 - Yahweh will ALWAYS guide us, where to go and what to do
* CONTINUALLY restore our strength
* Refresh us even if we are in a dry, difficult place

BUT
Here are the requirements (please read the chapter and also Rom 12:1-6)
The true fast the Lord requires is to give yourselves to Him and in obedience through the Holy Spirit to others. (Disciples making disciples Matthew 28:18-20)

A-Servant-heart

I played around a bit with 20 25 and landed on
Matthew 20 from verse 25.
[25] Jesus, knowing their thoughts, called them to his side and said, “Kings and those with great authority in this world rule oppressively over their subjects, like tyrants.
[26] But this is not your calling. You will lead by a completely different model. The greatest one among you will live as the one who is called to serve others,
[27] because the greatest honor and authority is reserved for the one with the heart of a servant.
[28] For even the Son of Man did not come expecting to be served but to serve and give his life in exchange for the salvation of many.”

Remember: We serve God for man, not man for God.

Some scripture to remind us to put God first:

Pray-for-each-other

We watched a beautiful clip this week about someone that got healed miraculously from MS after a radio station asked people to PRAY for her. More than 400 people replied that they are praying. That made me ponder on the fact that many times we are hesitant to ask people to pray with us. But scripture says:
James 5:16 ...pray for one another, that you may be healed...
Matthew 18:19...If two of you agree to ask God for something in a symphony of prayer, my heavenly Father will do it for you.

We read about a corporate prayer in Acts 12 when Peter got out of jail.
Acts 12:12,15...The house was filled with people praying.
“Are you crazy?” they said to her.
* Many times when our prayers get answered we are in shock. So remember:
Mark 11:24 This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer - be convinced that you have received it and it will be yours.

Love-Fruits

I'm still stuck in Song of Songs and what stood out for me this week was "fruit".

* Song of Songs 4:2 When I look at you, I see how you have taken my fruit and tasted my word. Your life has become clean and pure, like a lamb washed and newly shorn. You now show grace and balance with truth on display.
* Song of Songs 4:13-15 Your inward life is now sprouting, bringing forth fruit. What a beautiful paradise unfolds within you. When I'm near you, I smell aromas of the finest spice, for many clusters of my exquisite fruit now grow within your inner garden. Here are the nine: pomegranates of passion, henna from heaven, spikenard so sweet, saffron shining, fragrant calamus from the cross, sacred cinnamon, branches of scented woods, myrrh, like tears from a tree, and aloe as eagles ascending. [15] You are a fountain of gardens. A well of living water springs up from within you, like a mountain brook flowing into my heart!

* John 15:5 As you live in union with me as your source, fruitfulness will stream from within you.
* John 15:8,16
[8] When your lives bear abundant fruit, you demonstrate that you are my mature disciples who glorify my Father!
[16] You didn't choose me, but I've chosen and commissioned you to go into the world to bear fruit. And your fruit will last, because whatever you ask of my Father, for my sake, he will give it to you!

* Galatians 5:22-23
[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [23] gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

His-beloved-bride

The Lord took me back to His love for us, His beloved "bride".
Read Song of Songs as a love letter from Jesus to you.

In verse 2 it begins by saying: "Let Him..."
We need to come with a yielding heart and let Him do the rest...
1:2 Let him smother me with kisses—So kind are your caresses (saving, keeping, forgiving, embracing)
We will be drunk with love.
The Hebrew word for "kiss" can also mean to equip/arm for battle. The Lord sees you as:
* Lovely/ beautiful/thrilling (1:5, 9,15; 4:1, 7; 6:4,9)
2:14 How beautiful your eyes of worship and lovely your voice in prayer.

He invites us to:
5:2 Arise, my love. Open your heart, my darling, deeper still to me. You are my pure, loyal dove, a perfect partner for me. My flawless one, will you arise?

God-being-your-shield

Picture this:-
You kneel to pray, "God, please protect me."
Then a little pebble pings you on the back of your head.
You cry and yell to God, "Why God, why?"
Then you turn to look.
And you see Jesus, standing, shielding you from many big rocks and boulders that would have hurt you badly if they had hit you.
Then you realise how much Jesus loves you.

This is such a powerful illustration of God being our shield. Many times when we go through difficult times we wonder why? But we don't realize how many heartaches God has protected us from.

Romans 5:3-5 [3] Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, [4] and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, [5] and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

God-is-watching-us

This week we received a clip about a blind woman whose husband is keeping an eye on her to make sure that she is safe.
In the same way the Lord is watching us and keeping us safe. Here are some scriptures to remind us about His omnipresence and loving care.

* Psalms 121:3-8 He will guard and guide me, never letting me stumble or fall. God is my keeper; he will never forget nor ignore me. [4] He will never slumber nor sleep; he is the Guardian-God for his people, Israel. [5] Yahweh himself will watch over you; he's always at your side to shelter you safely in his presence. [6] He's protecting you from all danger both day and night. [7] He will keep you from every form of evil or calamity as he continuously watches over you. [8] You will be guarded by God himself. You will be safe when you leave your home, and safely you will return. He will protect you now, and he'll protect you forevermore!

* Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.

If you don't mind, you told a beautiful story yesterday about the blind woman. And I would love if you would be able to share that with everyone. Is this real people, by the way? Yes.

Mark and Susan had been married a few years when suddenly she began to lose her eyesight. And she got really depressed and sank into a deep slough of despond. But Mark said, "listen, honey, I'm going to stick with you and I'm going to help you learn how to do your job, blind."
And so they worked hard at it. He went with her to the office every day, showed her how to do her job as a blind woman. And then he would leave for his work at an army base.
Well, one day he turned to her and said, "Susan, I'm sorry, but I'm getting to work too late. You're going to have to go to your job on your own."
And she was freaked out. "There's no way I can ride the bus, walk the streets, go up the stairs, go into the office building, go upstairs and sit at my desk and do this on my own."
And he said, "no, honey, I'm going to stay with you. I'm going to teach you." And so they did it for a couple of weeks and then eventually said, "OK, I think you know it well enough. I've got to go to work at an earlier hour."
So Monday came, she got on the bus, walked the block, walked up the stairs, seamless. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, it went beautifully. Friday, as she's getting on the bus, the bus driver says, "you know, you're a really lucky woman."
She says, "stop it. I'm a blind woman."
He said, "well, yes, ma'am. But every day this week that you've gotten off the bus, there's a man standing on the street corner in a military uniform and he never takes his eyes off of you. And when you walk down the sidewalk, he's watching you carefully, like a hawk. You cross the street at the right time, he's watching you like a hawk. You go up the stairs, you open the door, you go in. And as soon as that door closes, he stands ramrod tall, gives you a salute, blows you a kiss, and then turns to go away."
And all of a sudden, Susan understood, that's my husband. He's been watching me tirelessly for all this time. I'm not alone. He's watching me.
And that's exactly what God does for us in even a more profound way. And then he calls us to do that with each other, to really protect each other, to focus in on each other, to listen to each other, to build each other up, to encourage each other. And that's how marriage goes beautifully.

Fill-your-Tank

I read something on fb that touched me deeply and I think many can relate to it especially at the end of a year.
It's about a little boy whose "tank" was empty.
There are a few ways you can refill your tank but one of them is to simply imagine being held and comforted by Jesus🫂.
* Isaiah 66:13 As a mother tenderly comforts her child, so will I tenderly comfort you...
* 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 God of all comfort, who comforts us...
* Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God ... he will quiet you by his love...
Sometimes when it FEELS like God is so far away and you can't see Him, it's because He's actually so close. Just close your eyes and put your head on His chest and hear and feel His heart beat.

Wow... I had to share this...

The whole world paused this morning.
Do you know why?
Because an 8 year old's tank was empty.

The kids had already started their school day at their desks and I was preparing to leave for work when I noticed my littlest standing in the bathroom wiping his face.

I paused at the door and asked if he was okay. He looked up with tears silently dripping and shook his head. When I questioned if something happened, again he shook his head.

So I sat on the side of the tub and pulled him in my lap. I told him sometimes our heart tanks feel empty and need to be refilled.

He cried into my chest and I held tight.

I asked if he could feel my love filling him up?

A nod, and tears stopped...

I waited a minute...

'Has it reached your toes yet?'

He shook his head no...

'Okay man. We will take as long as you need. Work doesn't matter right now. School isn't important either. This right here, is the most important thing today, okay? Filling you back to the top. Is that good?'

'Is your heart full of mamas love now?'

'Yeah...'

looks in his eyes 'I see it shining in there, you're full to the top, and you're smiling!'

You may not be 8 - you may be 28, 38, 48, 68, 78 or whatever- but ALL of us run on empty just like he did. His week was so busy and so full and his little soul was just dry!

We all have to pause, and take a moment to refill with the good things. prayer, sunshine, laughter, friends, hugs. Refill your empty tank, or you'll find those emotions (tears, anger, snappy words) overflowing with no reason why.

Take a moment. Refill. It's the most important part of your day!

Matthew 22:37-39 [37] Jesus replied, “'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.' [38] This is the first and greatest commandment. [39] A second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'

I'm sure we all know by now that we are made for a purpose. In order to live it out we have to allow the Potter to shape us. As we saw last week growing can be painful but the Lord promises us that He'll be with us going through it and we'll be able to handle it.
I've been praying for my health for a long time and earnestly seeking God in the matter. This morning I picked up my guitar and started singing. I suddenly burst into tears when I realised that I can't remember when last did I say specifically to the Lord "I love You". Yes, I believe my life shows that I love Him but that's not enough. Many years ago we were instructed to go and pray in a prayer room for an hour and I did't know how. I remember so clearly curled up in a corner the song came to me..."If you love me let me know, if you don't then let me go..."

So if I read the above verse, I need to know the Lord, to be able to love Him; then I need to love myself (see myself through God's eyes) to be able to love my neighbor.
Here is an important key to all autoimmune diseases (if you don't love yourself your body agrees and breaks itself down)

Pray-for-peace

I HAVE TOLD YOU THESE THINGS, SO THAT IN ME YOU MAY HAVE PEACE. IN THIS WORLD YOU WILL HAVE TROUBLE. BUT TAKE HEART! I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD.

As I mentioned previously the Lord reminded me numerous times to grow in grace and knowledge of Him (2 Pet. 3:18)
That "grow" also includes "discipline". For me that word only meant punishment but that is not true.
Discipline is training, and that training involves both positive and negative aspects. Part of discipline is simply guiding someone to follow certain rules or to observe certain behaviors. Another part of discipline involves reproof to correct disobedience. Both aspects of discipline can be tough.
To GROW can be tough. I always try to remember when challenges come Romans 8:28 and the song that says: "even if I don't see it you're working".

The thing I most needed growth in is to keep my peace in challenges...

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.
* Isaiah 26:3
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

Hebrews 12:5-7
5 The word in Scripture that confirms your genesis in God addresses you as sons, "My son do not undervalue the loving instruction of the Lord; neither become despondent when you are corrected.
6 For every instruction is inspired by his love, even as a father would teach his sons with affection, though it might seem harsh at the time."
7 Embrace correction. His instruction confirms your true sonship; just as a father would take natural responsibility for the education of his children.

God-never-lost-battle

You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf.

This week I stumbled upon the well-known Psalm 121. I almost know it out of my head from the Afrikaans version but when I read it in the TPT I was in awe. Here are some more verses about God's protection:

Isaiah 54:17 - No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 - But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.

Psalm 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Deuteronomy 31:6 - Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.

Many years ago a friend on my birthday told me that she's praying that I will enlarge my reception tank.
I then realized that I make God small. Thinking He can do it for others but not for me...

The Lord showed me, as I drew closer and getting to know Him more and more that God does not show favoritism. Romans 2:11
Also...
* Ephesians 3:20 Never doubt God's mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.
And...
* Is 65:24 I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!

One of the great ways God reveals His will to us is through our desires.
* Psalm 37:4 “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of your heart.”
* Psalm 145:19 He fulfills the desire of those who fear him.

Battery

I woke up with a picture of an aircon remote without batteries. The message that I got from it is that without batteries the remote is useless.
The aircon represents to me the working of the Holy Spirit (regulating the comfortable "temperature" in your life. But if you are not connected to the Source (no batteries) you cannot fulfill your purpose.

The scripture I got is:
* Jude (Judah) 1:20 But you, my delightfully loved friends, constantly and progressively build yourselves up on the foundation of your most holy faith by praying every moment in the Spirit (led by the Spirit).

We are called to...
* Galatians 6:1- Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.

Grow-in-the-Grace

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Interestingly we live in Khula Village which means to grow/increase/thrive.
GRACE (devine influence upon God's heart)
Maturing in our Christian life is not about what we do, but about what God does in us, by His grace. We grow in grace by reading God's Word and letting it “dwell in us richly” (Colossians 3:16) and by acknowledging Him in all our ways.

And then our immaturity will end! And we will not be easily shaken by trouble, nor led astray by novel teachings or by the false doctrines of deceivers who teach clever lies.

New-every-morning

Trevor loves to run on the beach early in the morning. Sometimes I go along and just enjoy God and His creation. It made me think about what the scripture says about
"Early in the morning"?
* We know that Jesus went out early when it was still dark to spend time with His Father. Isn't that what we should do also?(Mark 1:35)
* Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.(Psalms 30:5)
* Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you, I entrust my life.(Psalm 143:8)
* It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening.(Psalm 92:2)

This week we celebrated Heritage day. That made me think about my heritage in Christ.

Healing-Rain

I woke up this morning and it was raining. Immediately the song by Michael W Smith "Healing Rain" came to mind.
The song's core message lies in the transforming power of God's love and mercy. It reminds us that no matter how broken or lost we may feel, there is always hope for restoration. The lyrics reflect the desire for a shower of healing rain to wash away the burdens and wounds that life has inflicted upon us.
Jeremiah 17:14 - Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; Save me and I will be saved, For You are my praise.

Loved-by-God

Last week we looked at David ...a man after God's heart. This week the Lord is reminding us that we are also chosen - Colossians 3:12 You are always and dearly loved by God! So robe yourself with virtues of God, since you have been divinely chosen to be holy.
Remember: Col 1:22 to be holy and blameless in HIS SIGHT. How? When you obey Him and develop on schedule. (Don't compare with others)
Let's look at some of these VIRTUES:

* Be merciful
* Be compassionate
* Show kindness
* Be gentle
* Be humble
* Unoffendable
* Patient
* Tolerate the weakness of others
* Forgiving
[14] For love is supreme and must flow through each of these virtues. Love becomes the mark of true maturity.
[15] Let your heart be always guided by the peace of the Anointed One, who called you to peace as part of his one body. And always be thankful.

David-chose-to-Praise

We read in 1 Samuel 13:14 that David was a man after God's own heart.
Here are some reasons why...
1. FAITH (1 Sam. 17:47)

3. LOVE - even towards his enemies (Matthew 5:44)
4. HUMILITY (1 Sam.18:22; 2 Sam. 7:18)
5. INTEGRITY - David admitted when he was wrong and took responsibility for his mistakes. (1 Sam. 22:9-19)
6. REPENT and ASKED FORGIVENESS (2 Sam.12:2; Psalm 51)
7. WORSHIPPING GOD - He realized his righteousness did not come from his actions, but from his love for and submission to God.
At a time when others may have run from or hidden from God, David chose to praise the Lord. (Psalm 32)

Take-a-Breath

During this week there was a day that I was só tired (and I was repeating it to myself) and counted the days till my next off day. (Remember life and death lies in the power of your tongue, even when you speak to yourself) I then realized that I can't wait for off days or holidays to rest and be refreshed, I had to find a way to do it daily. I then heard April Stallworth say something so true: "I don't want a life that I need a vacation from!"
In order to be able to say that, you need to make sure that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and that you have given Him permission to fulfill His purpose in your life.
You'll then need a personal relationship with Him, acknowledging Him in ALL your ways, trusting and obeying His guidance, then you'll be where you should be.

Now we need to stop mumbling and grumbling about our circumstances and know that God has a plan and purpose with that.
We need to find ways during the day ( I'm not talking about your quiet time with the Lord) where you can just take a few minutes and take a few deep breaths (YAHWEH), put your feet up and reflect on a "Wow God" moment. Meditate on the daily bread you received the morning, count your blessings and thank God for them.

Then you can get up refreshed and run the race with a smile.

Knowing-who-I-am

I am reminded again this week of the importance of knowing who I am in Christ.

* Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you..."

... he has dressed me with salvation and wrapped me in the robe of his righteousness!
(God's approval/acceptance/right relationship/right standing with God)

* Psalms 8:5 - 8 I'm crowned with glory and magnificence.
I'm given dominion over the works of His hands and all things are put under my feet.(Heb. 2:6-8).

!! There is so much more but for today we need to know, accept and enjoy...
QUALIFIED!

APPROVED!
NO condemnation (Romans 8:33,34)!!

God-is-with-you

This week we had the privilege of becoming grandparents again. In awe and wonder we just soak in the perfection of God's work. We are so blessed. The peace that we as Christians have in knowing and experiencing that God's timing is always perfect.
I always remember, that the same proud way that we look to our child/grandchild, Abba Father is looking at us.
One of my favourite scriptures...

Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is with you; his power gives you victory. The Lord will take delight in you, and in his love he will give you new life. He will sing and be joyful over you,
We need to remember to crave for the pure spiritual milk just as this baby craves for his mommy's milk.
1 Peter 2:2 TPT
In the same way that nursing infants cry for milk, you must intensely crave the pure spiritual milk of God's Word. For this “milk” will cause you to grow into maturity, fully nourished and strong for life —

Be-Ready-in-Season

In 2 Timothy 4:2-5 we are reminded to always be ready with a relevant Word-

Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. [3] For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. [4] They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. [5] But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

Every morning on my way to work I pick up people next to the road. One specific guy will always be waiting for me and after greeting he'll say: "And what is our word for the day?" I can tell you, that's one way of inspiring me to have a quality quiet time every morning. Isaiah 50:4-11 not only gives us the sure foundation needed for living by faith every day (hearing! Hearing refreshes us so we can refresh others Verse 4) it also tells us (for further personal study) about all the daily faith testings we could have and have victory over them all in Christ.

So let's get back to our first love and pray Revive us oh God so that we can encourage others to do the same!

The-Lord-is-calling

The Lord is calling us to repent (get back to the "penthouse"- our original destiny/high calling) and return to our passion for Him that motivated us at first. Revelations 2:5
The Lord sees how hard we work and all our exhausting efforts; also our unyielding commitment to the task and how we cannot stand the wicked. That we have applied great diligence and have relentlessly pushed ourselves beyond limits - and all along we did it in His Name as if we were representing Him.
But the Lord says: "Here is my problem, you have divorced me and abandoned your first love. (A repeat of the Garden of Eden.) Revelations 2:2-4
We're invited into His Sabbath rest (ceasing from our own works), into an abundant life, of predestined Godly splendour Ephesians 2:10.
We are now His temples (think of how amazing the temple was that Solomon built) to shine and bear much fruit.

I've listened to a precious teaching of Esté Geldenhuys this week about prophesy. She discovered that prophesy can be spelled with an "s" or a "c". She has a Hebrew friend that lives in Israel and she asked him about it. In Hebrews there are 2 words for prophesy.

* NAVI/Prophecy/Noun:
NAVI is a prophecy only spoken by Elohim - a promise that will be fulfilled by the One (Almighty God) who spoke it.
Also connected to:
WE will bring/do/arrive/come/execute and establish it.

* NEVUA/Prophesy/Predict/Verb:
Navi from Abba Father to the people.
It depends on the person if he/she accepts it/makes it their own and lives according to it.

We need to set our thoughts on Him, receive His promises, pray it in. (Intimacy with God)
So - receive NAVI, believe it, speak it, live it with a thankful heart (choose to trust).

Hebrews 1:1-2 NIV
In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, [2] but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son...

I-AM-said-Jesus

God revealed His name to Moses: "I AM WHO I AM".
In John we find 7 "I am" statements of Jesus:
1 "I am the bread of life" (John 6:35, 41, 48, 51)
2 "I am the light of the world" (John 8:12; 9:5)
3 "I am the door" (John 10:7 and 9)
4 "I am the good shepherd" (John 10:11, 14)
5 "I am the resurrection and the life" (John 11:25).
6 "I am the way and the truth and the life" (John 14:6)
7 "I am the true vine" (John 15:1, 5)
When you find Jesus is all you have, you find Jesus is all you need!

I woke up with this scripture in mind:

God-directs-our-steps

My "wake up" scripture this morning was...
* Lamentations 3:37. Who can command things to happen without the Lord's permission?

Here are some more scriptures reminding us to allow God to direct our steps to be able to fulfill our purpose.
* Proverbs 16:9. You may make your plans, but God directs your actions.
* Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. [6] Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.
* Psalms 37:23-26. When Yahweh delights in how you live your life, he establishes your every step. [24] If they stumble badly they will still survive, for the Lord lifts them up with his hands. [25] I was once inexperienced, but now I'm old. Not once have I found a lover of God forsaken by him, nor have any of their children gone hungry. [26] Instead, I've found the godly ones to be the generous ones who give freely to others. Their children are blessed and become a blessing.
* Proverbs 20:24. It is the Lord who directs your life, for each step you take is ordained by God to bring you closer to your destiny. So much of your life, then, remains a mystery!

Fathers-Day-2024

As we are celebrating Father's Day today I was thinking about our "Abba Father".
The definition of Father according to the dictionary: Creator/Founder/Provider/Author

Some scriptures to remind you:
* 2 Corinthians 1:3.All praises belong to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he is the Father of tender mercy and the God of endless comfort.
* Ephesians 4:6. And he is the perfect Father who leads us all, works through us all, and lives in us all!
* Psalm 68:5-6 .To the fatherless he is a father. To the widow he is a champion friend. The lonely he makes part of a family. The prisoners he leads into prosperity until they sing for joy. This is our Holy God in his Holy Place!
* 1 John 3:1. Look with wonder at the depth of the Father's marvelous love that he has lavished on us! He has called us and made us his very own beloved children.
* 2 Corinthians 6:18.I will be a true Father to you, and you will be my beloved sons and daughters,” says the Lord Yahweh Almighty.
* Ephesians 1:3-4. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, [4] even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.

Created-for-My-glory

My son shot a Kudu and thought it was dead but it was still alive. On going with his knife to slaughter it, the kudu kicked his feet out under him. He fell flat on his stomach and face. The knife penetrated from his jaw to his ear just missing the artery. Praise God

All glory, honor and praise be to our Faithful, Living, Loving God for saving my son's life this week.
He fell with his face into his knife while hunting and it was a nightlong horrible experience for him to get to an ER after many hours.
Throughout the years when praying for him, the Lord repeatedly gave me Isaiah 43.
So I encourage you to put your name or your loved ones' names in this passage and pray it over/ for them.

Isaiah 43:1-4,10-11
[1] But now, O Israel, the LORD who created you says: "Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.
[2] When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.
[3] For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior...
[4] ... you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you.

[10] ... You have been chosen to know me, believe in me, and understand that I alone am God. There is no other God; there never has been and never will be.
[11] I am the LORD, and there is no other Savior.

I-am-Blessed

We were so touched by the story of Helen Keller and her teacher Anne Sullivan. Helen was deaf and blind and Anne had trouble with her own eyes and later became totally blind herself. But wow, the things they have accomplished are mind blowing. The question arose in my mind: "Are you living your life to the fullest, fulfilling God's purpose for your life?"

The word contentment was next...contentment acknowledges that God is in control and has a purpose for everything, even in difficult times. As we trust/acknowledge God, giving thanks in all circumstances, we will find freedom from worry and anxiety, because we will be experiencing God's faith, presence and peace!

We-will-serve-God

At the moment SA is busy preparing for elections this week. More important than deciding which party to choose, is to choose Who is ruling your life. We read in Deut.30:19 that we have a choice today and if we choose to make Jesus our Lord and Saviour and have a loving daily relationship with Him, He will take DELIGHT in prospering us. He will guide us in making the right choices.

The Lord also reminded me about the importance of prayer and praise.
For example...We read in James 5:16,17 about the powerful prayers of Elijah, "for tremendous power is released through the passionate, heartfelt prayer of a godly believer!'
What looks impossible to man is possible
with God. (Matthew 19:26)
So let's declare with Joshua..."Me and my house will serve the Lord!" (Joshua 24:15)
Prayer and Praise

What-a-Faithful-God

This week the words "God is faithful" kept coming up. So the question arose "What does it mean for me?" We so easily trust that the chair I'm sitting on will hold my weight or when I turn the key the car will start etc. Why? Because I sat on that chair many times before and I started my car everyday and it never failed. For me the key lies in the fact that I know my chair/car. I spent many hours in it. So if we struggle to trust God we need to spend more time with Him and get to know how trustworthy and faithful He is in every situation in your life. He deserves all our honor glory and praise.
* 1 Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
* Psalms 91:4 TPT
His arms of faithfulness are a shield keeping you from harm.
* Hebrews 10:23 NIV
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

Under-His-Wings

I woke up with the word wing and the first scripture that came to mind is where Jesus said
* He'd like to gather us like a hen gathers her brood under her wings.(Matthew 23:37)
We are safe under His wings (Ps 63:7; Psalm 91:4)
* Also...Isaiah 40:31 But those who entwine their hearts with Yahweh will experience divine strength. They will rise up on soaring wings and fly like eagles, run their races without growing weary, and walk through life without giving up.
* Another beautiful scripture about wings can be found in Mal.4:2 But unto you who revere and worshipfully fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings and His beams, and you shall go forth and gambol like calves [released] from the stall and leap for joy.
* I was also singing the song: "Blessed be the Lord God Almighty" The song reminds us that God never changes, He was and is and is to come. (Hebr.13:8)
* His reign will never end (Psalm 9:7)

Forgive-those-who-trespass

I've been struggling with bodily pain for many years. A few people are praying earnestly for my healing and this revelation came...
- Matthew 18:34,35 If I don't forgive I'll be handed over to the tormentors! I prayed and asked the Lord who I needed to forgive, thinking "big stuff", but no one came to mind.
Today I realized it's a daily thing - The person mistreating you, talking behind your back, the one whose actions are irritating you, are some examples of the people you need to forgive DAILY, on the spot.

The 2 major scriptures God gave me are Romans 12 and Psalm 22.
In Psalm 22 we are reminded that Jesus felt every pain that we can ever go through and He understands your pain and has compassion for you. In Rom 12 we are guided how to be transformed and how to act in a Godly way.
- Romans 12:19
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
[21] Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
- Matthew 6:15
But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Weapon-of-Prayer

I listened to a teaching by Otto Koning (of the pineapple story) about prayer.

Sometimes when we get a prayer request and we don't know what God's will is.
Here are a few scriptures about God's will:
- 1 Pet. 2:15 - silence ignorant people by doing good.
- 1 Thess. 4:3 - set apart for Him in holiness, keep from sexual sin.
- 1 Thess. 5:18 - in EVERYTHING give thanks.
- 1 Tim. 2:4 - ALL people to be saved and come to the knowledge of God.
- John6:40- For the longing of my Father is that everyone who embraces the Son and believes in him will experience eternal life and I will raise them up in the last day!”
Otto reminds us to ask BIG because God will give you more - Eph 3:20.
- We should always pray for the maximun glory to His name/not our will but His will be done!
An example:
- Lord, this is my request but if You want to do something greater that would glorify Your name even more...DO IT!

Romans 8:26 TPT
And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don't even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words.

Victory

In a dream I was reminded twice of our victory in Christ.
- Psalms 44:7 but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame.
-1 John 5:4 You see, every child of God overcomes the world, for our faith is the victorious power that triumphs over the world.
- 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Romans 8:37 GNT
No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us!

Prayer-thoughts

Otto Koning said something I had to think about... Don't base your doctrine on a parable. For instance the parable of the widow and the judge in Luke 18 is not about the nagging woman but God protecting his chosen ones who pray to him day and night. He will not delay to help them.

When God says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17
pray without ceasing it doesn't mean keep asking for the same thing it means keep "talking to God" all the time.
Pray for different things.
It's important that we go and pray and pray it through. In other words you know that God has heard your prayer and then you have to leave it with Him and let Him deal with it. Now you give thanks!
Remember that we have authority in Christ. Luke 9:1
We have to bind the strong man. Mark 3:27
Matthew 18:18

What about the unsaved people?
Matthew 9:36-38
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. [37] Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. [38] Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

Hearing-Voice-of-God

In a dream last night I saw someone but didn't recognise him until he spoke and I recognised his voice. I woke up with the song "Rooftops" and the specific line..."from the rooftops I'll proclaim, I am Yours..."

Isaiah 43:1
"Do not be afraid—I will save you. I have called you by name—you are mine.

John 10:3 And the sheep recognize the voice of the true Shepherd, for he calls his own by name and leads them out, for they belong to him.
It is so important to learn to discern the Shepherd's voice.
A few questions that can help you...
? Does it line up with the word? yes
? Does it bring condemnation? (Rom 8:1) no
? Does it reflect God's character? yes
? Does it challenge you to do better? yes
? Does it cause destruction? no
? Does it bring peace? (Col.3:15) yes
? Did you receive confirmation? yes
- It should always be a word of upliftment, edification and encouragement. (1 Corinthians 14:3)

Celebrating-the-resurrection

Celebrating the resurrection of Jesus I read the account in Mark 16/ John 20 about Mary looking/searching for her Beloved and the song "In the garden" came to mind. I realized that the song was about Mary and the joy she experienced when she found Him (actually, He found her).
I was also reading Songs of Solomon 3:1-4. There the woman/bride is also looking for her Beloved and when she found the one she adores, she caught him and fastened herself to him, refusing to be feeble in her heart again. She brought him back to the temple within where she was given new birth— into her innermost parts, the place of conceiving.
Often in times of sorrow we don't recognise the closeness of our Beloved until we are quiet enough to hear Him say our name.
Then we are encouraged again and reminded of our purpose (all in the name He calls us).
May you experience the joy Mary did when finding Him again.

But now I have grown and become a bride, and my love for him has made me a tower of passion and contentment for my beloved. I am now a firm wall of protection for others, guarding them from harm. This is how he sees me—I am the one who brings him bliss, finding favor in his eyes.

Wow-God

I've been listening to podcasts about "Wow, God!" That made me ponder about the "Wow, God" moments in my life. Many times it will be after answered prayer.

How often we forget to go back and say thank You!
When we do...
- We will be opening the door for God's presence and blessings - James 1:17 - every good and perfect gift comes from above
- It will increase our faith and remind us that God is faithful - 1 Corinthians 1:9, 10:13; 1 Joh.1:9; 2 Thess.3:3; 2 Tim.2:13; Heb.10:23; 1 Pet.4:19; 1 Thess.5:24
- We will be setting our minds on things above and we will have peace - Philippians 4: 7,8
(Too busy with the good to do or think about the bad!)
* Let's try to end each day by Thanking God for the "Wow" moments of the day. (It will be good of you can write them down)

Philippians-4

During this week we were pondering and discussing Philippians 4:4-7

If you realise that you belong to the Lord (paid with a price) you will have joy and all men will know, perceive and recognise your unselfishness, considerateness and forbearing spirit because the Lord is near (in you) verse 5.
[6]you won't be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Because you are saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Telling Him every detail of your life,
[7] then God's wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ.
Then you can't but give Him glory like Psalms 145 so clearly help us do.

[2] Every day I will lift up my praise to your name with praises that will last throughout eternity.

Bloom-where-planted

We so easily quote Jeremiah 29:11 " For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."
But we forget the context of the whole story. The Israelites were in captivity in Babylon and they didn't want to be there. God told them in verse 4 - 7 to live their lives to the fullest. To marry and have children, to plant gardens and work for the peace and prosperity of the city. They had to pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare would determine their welfare.
Remember: ... we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10

Child-of-God

Psalms 16:6 TPT
Your pleasant path leads me to pleasant places. I'm overwhelmed by the privileges that come with following you!

This morning I was reading Psalm 16 and it made me think of some of the privileges or honors that believers have as worshipers of the living God?
Throughout Scripture, God seeks to inform believers about how truly special and privileged they are.
Ephesians 2:1-10 says it well.
- We are totally redeemed
- Evil spirits are totally removed v 3
- We received a new birth through the Holy Spirit into heavenly blessings/inheritance/destiny v 6
- So for the ages to come we will be the visible display of the glory of God v 7
- We are the poetry, workmanship of God for a time such as this v 10

Protocol

I've been struggling to get rid of a nasty cold now for 3 weeks. I've been following many peoples advice and tried every home remedy but it didn't really work.
I'm following a group called "Ask the covid Angels SA" on Telegram. The first thing they'll ask you is if you followed the pinned protocol?
So before I asked a question I went to look at the suggested protocol. I saw that I did some of the things but not all and I know that's why I didn't get the desired outcome.
That made me think that we as Christians also have a "protocol" to follow to receive all the blessings available for us but so many times we're only doing "some" of it and then we only have "some" results.
1 Corinthians 14:40; 2 Tim. 2:4,5; Proverbs 3:6; 2 Pet.1:3-11; Tit.2:11-14; Is 50:4-11.

Holy-and-Blameless

Ephesians 1:4 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and blameless in HIS eyes. (Col.1:22)

Maybe you have struggled with these words - HOLY and BLAMELESS - just like me until I realised the importance of the words "in HIS eyes". Not in my neighbour's eyes or anyone else in the world's eyes, but His (the One who loves us and chose us and created us with a specific purpose in mind).

I can compare it so easily to my grandkids that I'm visiting at the moment. I've been watching their growth and development since birth and am so proud of them.
In my eyes they are holy and blameless because they have learned (sometimes the hard way) to be obedient and trust that their parents know and want the best for them.
In the same way we are holy and blameless in our Abba Father's eyes, if we are developing on schedule. (Without an intimate relationship with Him it won't be possible).

So stop comparing yourself with others and be who God made you to be. Arise and shine !
Gal.1:10; 6:4; Is. 60:1

Life-is-short

During this week 3 men that we knew well passed away. Maybe you feel today like running away but where to?
There is only One Place that can really comfort us and that is in the bosom of our Lord.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

I'm also reminded through the book of Enoch about how God "knew" us before we were formed in our mother's womb.(Jer.1:5; Exodus 33:12; Is. 49: 1,5; Romans 8:29)

The Lord knows exactly why He formed you and for what purpose He made you for.
Psalms 139:16 TPT
[16] You saw who you created me to be before I became me! Before I'd ever seen the light of day, the number of days you planned for me were already recorded in your book.

I surrender Lord, You know best.

We've been discussing "Abiding in the Vine" ( John 15:1-11) this week and the words "I want to know you more" came to mind .

We can't know Him more if we don't spend time with Him in prayer and reading His Love Letter, the Bible

I've been reading the parables of Jesus about the Kingdom of Heaven in Matthew 13 /Mark 4.

What I perceive is that it is:
-Very precious and worth it, to do everything possible to take hold of it (It is available to EVERYONE).
-It starts small but grows big into maturity (1 Pet.2:2)
-The tares(evil) grows with the seed but during harvest time you'll clearly see the difference. The wheat will be bowed down in humble, prayerful, joyful and thankfulness, bearing all the Kingdom seed, fruit, etc. and the tares will arrogantly stand tall, easy for the reapers (angels) to gather and burn them.

At the end of the parables of the Kingdom of Heaven, Jesus gave this beautiful promise in :52
Then you see how every student well-trained in God's kingdom is like the owner of a general store who can put his hands on anything you need, old or new, exactly when you need it.

Truth-Im-standing-on

This sentence of the song Leanna Crawford sings, kept repeating in my mind for quite a while. "This is the truth I'm standing on" but I couldn't remember any other words of the song so I looked it up. What an awesome reminder about God's promises and that His plan is perfect all along. And when I asked the Lord for a word for today He led me to Psalm 46 in the TPT translation. The following stood out for me.

[1] God, you're such a safe and powerful place to find refuge! You're a proven help in time of trouble— more than enough and always available whenever I need you. Faith-Life-brings-Rest

A LIFE OF FAITH BRINGS REST

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

In Hebrews 3,4 we are reminded of the Sabbath's rest/ Faith rest that is available to us.

So search your hearts every day and make sure that none of you has evil or unbelief hiding within you.
We are reminded quite a few times in Hebr. 3,4 not to grieve God by unbelief and hardened hearts.

As we enter into God's faith-rest life we cease from our own works,

Jesus our High Priest, understands humanity and was tempted in every way just as we are, and conquered sin and now sympathizes with us. So now we draw near freely and boldly to where grace is enthroned, to receive mercy's kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness.

A-Word-for-2024

As the year is running out I asked the Lord for a word for 2024.

In Revelations 4:11 we are reminded to lay down our crowns and WORSHIP Him...
"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory, honor, and power, for you created all things, and for your pleasure they were created and exist."

[9] And they were all singing this new song of praise to the Lamb: "Because you were slaughtered for us, you are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals. Your blood was the price paid to redeem us. You purchased us to bring us to God out of every tribe, language, people group, and nation. We need to make sure that our names will not be blotted out of the book of life.

A-Child-is-born

Who conquered sin and death so we could be with God forever.

I love the sequence:
The government is upon His shoulders (remember we are the body/bride/branches, co-heirs with Christ)
So He needs to be our Councilor /Shepherd in order for us to experience Him as our mighty God, everlasting Father and Prince of peace

On Thursday, Trevor stopped and picked me the most beautiful waterlily. After a few hours in the hot car it started to wilt. The thought came to me that we also whither if we move out from our Source/Living water.

Dr-Mary-Neal

I watched a clip this week about Dr. Mary Neal who went down a waterfall and was dead for 30min. A few points stood out to me from her experience.
- She thought she didn't need God.
- We should live to reflect God's love to the world by serving others.
- Beauty comes of all things, we need to TRUST (she knew her son was going to die)
- God's GRACE is real.
- We are all part of ONE.
- Live in a state of joy.
- Life here is a great adventure but it's not our home!

The Lord is reminding us that there is a Sabbath rest available for us believers.

King-of-Glory

On his robe and on his thigh he had inscribed a name: King of kings and Lord of lords. Revelation 19:16
The Lord is reminding me this week that He is King of kings and Lord of lords.
The song, Above all, describes it beautiful. Jesus is above ALL and when He was crucified He thought of me above all.
If we accept Him as our King and Saviour, we have the privilege to reign with Him.

If we are joined with him in his sufferings, then we will reign together with him in his triumph.

Luke 10:19
Now you understand that I have imparted to you my authority to trample over his kingdom. You will trample upon every demon before you and overcome every power Satan possesses. Absolutely nothing will harm you as you walk in this authority.

Live-for-righteousness

Righteousness - to live rightly

In 1 Pet.2:24 we are reminded to live for righteousness.
Allow me to share a few verses that came to mind.
Matthew 5:10 "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Psalms 139:3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do.

Jeremiah 17:5,7 [5] Thus says the Lord: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord.
[7] "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.
Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,
James 4:17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
1 Peter 3:16 Give a kind and respectful answer and keep your conscience clear. This way you will make people ashamed for saying bad things about your good conduct as a follower of Christ.

Lord-use-me

During this week I earnestly prayed that I don't want to miss out on anything the Lord had planned for me. I want to reach my FULL potential/purpose that I was made for. That meant that I had to surrender ALL again.
If I can compare our lives to a dish cloth and I pray and say: "Lord, use me! (for extending Your Kingdom/making disciples) from that moment I could not just expect to be a cloth hanging in the kitchen looking nice, but available as the Lord would Will! "We should always preach the gospel, sometimes with words".
1 Peter 2:20 could then be relevant...
if when you do what is right and suffer for it and you patiently endure , this finds favor with God.
Don't be discouraged. Remember 1 Peter 5:10
After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.

Fire

With all the fires burning all around the world I thought a bit about fire in the bible. Fire is a powerful force. It has the ability to both create and destroy. Fire is often seen as a Purifier.
When we allow Him to work in our lives, He can take away our impurities and make us into people who reflect His character.
Fire is often associated with warmth and light. It brings comfort and illumination into the darkness. God is a source of warmth and light in our lives. He brings hope into our darkness and reminds us that we are never alone.
Whether it is the Holy Spirit, God's judgment, or purification, fire is mentioned numerous times throughout the Bible with different meanings.

Importance-of-knowing-truth

I saw again this week the clip of the Kenyan boy who made as if he got a golden buzzer on AGT from all the judges. At first I didn't realise that it was fake but after the kids made us aware of some points, I could see it. I had to go and watch the original show to be able to see the fake. It also made me think of the person years ago working in the bank and when asked how do you know when money is fake, the person replied that he/she had to count real money for a long time and then worked at the Teller and by then they could immediately spot/feel the fake money.
We all know that Satan cannot create anything and because of his jealousy over mankind he is a copycat and deceiver from the beginning.

That just confirmed to me the importance of knowing the truth (by reading your bible John 8:32) and not to fall for the fake/false. Also then you won't have a need for the world's hand clap. You will know that you are highly favoured and worth dying for.

Honor-God

I was thinking that just as much as we want our children to be obedient and honor us, their parents, our Abba Father is pleased when we obey Him.
We read in John 14:15 "If you love me, you will obey my commandments.
Also John 14:23.
Just as there is a promise to obey your parents (Exodus 20:12) God also promises a "reward" for honoring/obeying Him - Exodus 19:5 Now, if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own people.
1 Samuel 2:30 I, the Lord God of Israel, promise, I will honor those who honor me,

You can read about all the blessings you'll receive when you honor and obey God in Deuteronomy 28 - Obey the Lord your God and all these blessings will be yours...
It is impossible to obey and honor Him if we don't know what He is saying...
Read your Bible and pray everyday
Remember to also honor Him when no-one is watching.

Psalm-120-to-134

We are working through Psalms 120 - 134 that is also called the Ascending Psalms/Psalms of degrees / Pilgrimage.
There are different interpretations but most of the commentators think that it is related to the 15 step ascending into the temple. On each step they paused and sang a Psalm.
It can be divided into 3 main sections.
120 - 124 > reference to trouble and danger
125 - 129 > confidence in God
130 - 134 > communion with Him in His house
(We are His temples)
We can read in 1 Chronicles 13 where David brought the Ark UP to Jerusalem and in 2 Chronicles 5:5 where Solomon brought the Ark UP into the temple.
Every time a big celebration with music and dancing.
Now in the new covenant we have something MUCH greater... we thank God for the old covenant shadow but NOW we praise God for the way the truth and the life we have in Christ Jesus. Spring-Celebration

This week we celebrated the start of Spring, but we also experienced the August winds. I always see the Holy Spirit represented by wind, blowing away all the dead leaves/fruit/branches/sickness, etc.
When Spring arrives it reminds us of new beginnings, a clean page, a new chapter, growth.
There are times when we're in an autumn season and feeling down and dried out but God is calling us, His Bride, His called out ones to Arise and Come out with Him.
Like animals coming out of hibernation. We see a number of times in scripture where He's inviting us to come out and arise. Songs 2:13; 4:7; 7:11; Isaiah 60:1,2; Malachi 4:2,3

Trust-in-God

With everything going on in the world today I sometimes feel to be like an ostrich and bury my head in the sand.
But God is asking of us to...
Pay attention
(Mark 13:34; 1 Corinthians 16:13; 1 Thess. 5:6; 1 Pet.5:8)
Lament together
(Matthew 18:19,20)
Ask with expectation
(Hebr. 10:27)
We are waiting for the Lord to finish what He has begun in Christ's death and resurrection.
Lament prepares us for hope in God gathering His people to a place ruled fully by His justice.

Here are some verses to remind us to put our trust in God and not in man.

Freedom-to-be-Flawless

I stumbled across the song I saved on my phone in 2016 "Flawless" and I went and looked up about the inspiration behind the song.
- God's grace is not based on what you do -it's freely given to everyone. Acts 4:33 ...and great grace was upon them all." Ephesians 2:8,9
- Pain is Momentary, but Christ is Eternal.
1 Peter 5:10 "And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you."
- Christ Already Paid the Price for Our Sins.
Ephesians 2:8-9 makes it clear that we are saved by God's grace, not our deeds! "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -not by works, so that no one can boast."
- God Gives Us Unconditional Love.
Romans 5:8 "But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
- God Can Redeem Our Brokenness.
Let Ephesians 1:7 sink in as you allow yourself to be surrounded by truth: "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace."

Be-Strong-and-Courageous

Be STRONG and COURAGEOUS ... for the Lord is with you wherever you go

I had a dream this week, that I wasn't allowed to write an exam because my preparations were written in pencil.
The meaning of the dream for me was confirmed yesterday when someone sent me the song Blessed Assurance while I was waiting on the Lord for Today's Blessing.

Be on guard; stand firm in your faith [in God, respecting His precepts and keeping your doctrine sound]. Act like [mature] men and be courageous; be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13 AMP

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.

So we can say with great confidence: "I know the Lord is for me and I will never be afraid of what people may do to me!"

I was made aware of the importance and value of reading the Bible today.
Having the Bible, and being able to read the Bible in our heart language, is a tremendous gift. There are an estimated 160 million people without access to any scripture in their heart language and at least 1.5 billion people are without the full Bible in their first language.
Our world is dying and in need of a Savior.
Jesus came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10)
What is my role in offering Your light to the world that is being deceived and drowning in sin?

But how can people call on him for help if they've not yet believed? And how can they believe in one they've not yet heard of? And how can they hear the message of life if there is no one there to proclaim it? And how can the message be proclaimed if messengers have yet to be sent?
That's why the Scriptures say: How welcome is the arrival of those proclaiming the joyful news of peace and of good things to come!
(Romans 10:14-15)

Scripture is there for us to know God's heart, to communicate with the Living Christ, to respond appropriately to His beauty and His voice.
Matthew 4:4; Proverbs 6:23; Job 22:22; Matthew 24:35, Psalm 1:1-4; Col.1:9,10; John 17:17; 2 Tim.3:17

Family-of-God

"For whoever does the will of God is my brother, my sister, and my mother!" Mark 3:35

The message the Lord laid on my heart today is the importance of family and support. He gave me the scripture in Mark 3:35 where Jesus said: "For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother."

So if you truly believe in the One and only true Living God ,
Ephesians 4:3 - 6..."one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all"
you are part of His family and you will never ever be alone. Romans 8:38,39

And teach them to faithfully follow all that I have commanded you. And never forget that I am with you every day, even to the completion of this age."

Swap-sin-for-righteousness

For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:21

To Esté Geldenhuys, and to each one of us, God is saying: "You never ever have to prove yourself right or good enough!"
If we do, we haven't excepted the forgiveness that Jesus paid for on the cross.
I urge you to find your significance in God. Draw your self-worth from him. Live in the fullness he longs to bless you with, free of the exhausting need to prove yourself to others. Your life is found in him (Colossians 3:3-4).

When you feel like you don't belong, remember that
• he has called you by name and that you are his (Isaiah 43:1).
• When you cower in fear, rest in the promise that he has given you a spirit "of power and love and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7).
• When you feel the futility in all you cannot do, rejoice that his strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
• When you feel unfinished or insignificant, focus on the promise that you are complete in Christ (Colossians 2:9-10).
• For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. (Psalm 62:1-2)
• Even when your world is shaken, I pray that you will not be, because Christ is your rock and refuge. I pray you will stand fast, because you can hear the love song God is now singing over you (Zephaniah 3:17). I pray that you will rest, knowing you are accepted, loved, and made new, rather than constantly reaching for the world's approval.

Found-what-was-Lost

I'm sure all of us at some point, lost or misplaced something valuable/important.

We've experienced it twice this week when Trevor lost the bakkie's keys while running and his teeth at the beach.
Praise God both were found.
That made us think about what to do when things get lost...

It doesn't matter if it's keys, teeth, glasses or our joy, faith, peace, etc...
Pray, Return, Seek and Rejoice with thanksgiving.

- God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Great-is-Your-faithfulness

With a grateful heart for answered prayer, I was waiting on the Lord for Today's Blessing and the song "Great is Thy faithfulness" came to mind.

Still focusing on God's unconditional love for me, He reminded me of a few things this week.
I'm sure that all of you who are the youngest siblings have experienced that at some time or other your elder sibling was punished for something you were guilty of! That's what Jesus did for us.

- But he was wounded for our rebellions; he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and by his stripes healing was provided for us.

Whilst resting on Sodwana Beach on our way from Kosi Bay looking at sand slipping through my fingers the following scripture came to mind: Psalm 139:17,18

Waiting-for-Christ

You are waiting for Christ but He is waiting for you!

I listened to a sermon by Louis Giglio and that phrase "People are waiting for Christ but He is waiting for you" caught my attention.
Immanuel - God WITH us!

A few examples from the Bible that shows Jesus is already here, waiting for us...
- When the angels told the Shepherds about Jesus, He was already there.
- When Mary was at the empty grave He was there, waiting for her, saying: "I'm here, I'm an overcomer, I'm able".
- When Jesus waited on the beach with breakfast for the disciples he was saying to Peter: "I forgive you".
- When the Samaritan woman came to the well Jesus was waiting for her, saying: "I can give you more than what you are looking for".
- Jesus says to you and me today: "I'm here, I am with you, I am what you are looking for and I am waiting to bless you!"
John 14:22-23; Is.30:18; 2 Petr. 3:9; Ps 46:1; 1 John 5:19,20.

Trust-God

I was wondering about the difference between belief and faith. This definition says it clearly:
Belief is based on information, while faith is based on application.
Remember even demons believed and trembled (James 2:14)

Faith requires you to act on what you believe. (James 2:17)
In order to have faith in Someone you need to trust Him.
I stumbled across a teaching of Rick Warren en he explains TRUST in the following way.

Turn EVERYTHING to God to control

Relax in God's unconditional love ( put your faith/trust in something you can never loose... the heart of God) Romans 8: 38,39
Use your life to serve God by serving others

Mothers-Day-2023

The faithfulness of Jochebed, the mother of Moses, revealed that she feared God far more than she feared the prevailing monarch. She risked her life for the sake of her son. Later, she placed Moses firmly into God's hands - an act of beautiful faith. (Exodus 2; Heb 11:23).

The midwives, Shiphrah and Puah, (Exodus 1:15) stood in awe of God and disobeyed Pharoah's outrageous order to kill all Hebrew males at birth. They protected the baby boys they delivered.

Jehosheba bravely rescued her nephew, Joash, from his murderous mother.(Read more in 2 Kings 11 and 2 Chron. 22:10-14)

The widow at Zarephath was, after all, starving to death. But instead of keeping her remaining food to herself, she taught her son that when we give to God, he takes care of us.(1 Kings 17)

The Shunammite Woman reminds us it's never too late when God is in the picture. It's never too late for God to do a miracle, she continued to believe. And her son lived again.(2 Kings 4)

The Mother of James and John was thinking about the well-being of her sons. It might have taken her a while, but eventually she learned that the most important thing in life was not success or popularity or power or fame but service. She didn't continue to seek glory for her sons. Instead she stayed beside Jesus until the end. (Matthew 20:20)

In Eunice, Timothy's mother, we see faithfulness as a holy action, an imparting, a demonstration of belief. Timothy learned from his mother and grandmother what it meant to be a faithful follower of Jesus.(2Tim.1:5)

Encourage-one-another

This week I personally experienced the value of encouragement.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 says:"Therefore encourage and comfort one another and build up one another..."

There are a million ways to do that but allow me to remind you of a few ways.

- We all have a need of acknowledgement.
- Sometimes all someone needs is a look in the eyes and a smile or a hug.
- Asking someone what would they want you to pray for or telling them you'll pray and then DO it!
- Physical help if you see a need.
- Just your presence, your time and a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on.
- A flower, chocolate or a small gift.
- But the most valuable, powerful encouragement is when you take time to ask God for a word in season for someone. That can only come when you have a personal, living relationship with our Biggest Encourager ever.

Discover creative ways to encourage others and to motivate them toward acts of compassion, doing beautiful works as expressions of love.
This is not the time to pull away and neglect meeting together, as some have formed the habit of doing.
In fact, we should come together even more frequently, eager to encourage and urge each other onward as we anticipate that day dawning.

Relationship-required

We know that God wants a relationship with us but sometimes we don't know HOW!?
We are reminded in Matthew 6 not to worry about what we should eat, drink and what to wear but that God will provide for us.

The opposite of worry/fear is faith/trust.

If you don't KNOW someone you won't be able to trust them. And you can only get to know someone by spending time with them. Still my question how.
Then the Lord reminded me that as much as I want to hear from my children and talk to them, God wants to spend time with us in fellowship. So I went and made a cup of coffee and imagined God sitting with me, having coffee and a "kuier".

I remember I once attended a course on prayer and we were encouraged to spend at least one hour in a "prayer room". The church I attended at that time had a room for prayer and I decided to go there. I crawled up in a corner holding a cushion and started waiting, not really knowing what to do and the worldly song came to mind..."if you love me let me know..." and I realised that as much as we want to hear from our children that they loved us and we just want to hear about their day, the same way we can talk to God.
Just as you sometimes give your children advice and guidance so God also wants to guide and lead you. He made you and knows the plans He has for you and will provide in every way so that you can fulfill your purpose. God doesn't want performance, He wants a relationship. He is trustworthy!

Called-you-by-Name

This week we discussed our purpose in life and God's will. Another phrase we can use is "Called".
- We are called or chosen.

John 15:16 : You didn't choose me, but I've chosen and commissioned you to go into the world to bear fruit. And your fruit will last, because whatever you ask of my Father, for my sake, he will give it to you!

- The one who calls you by name is trustworthy and will thoroughly complete his work in you.
1 Thessalonians 5:24

- ...for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose.
Romans 8:28

- ... he called you to possess your share of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 2:14

- For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.

Sheep-with-Good-Shepherd

This week we discussed John 10 ...The Good Shepherd and I wanted to know more about the characteristics of a sheep and how it compares to us as Christians.

We need a Shepherd (Jesus) because:
- Sheep have no sense of direction. Is. 53:6
- Sheep are defenceless. Matthew 9:36
- When they are "cast down" (on their back) they can't get up without help. Is.40:11
- Sheep are loyal and recognise their Shepherd's voice. John 10:27
- Sheep are not meant to carry burdens. Psalm 55:22
- Sheep will sadly settle for less. They lack discernment, judgement and don't know what is good for them. Ps 23:1,2
- Sheep were a prized possession in the Bible times.(God views us as priceless = ultimate sacrifice)John 1:29
- Sheep cannot care for themselves when wounded (can't lick themselves like some animals do) Psalm 147:3
- Symbolizes gentleness, purity and innocence (opposite of a goat) Matthew 25:32
- Sheep flock together - unity. John 17:22; Ephesians 4:1,2

Something interesting is that anti venom for example snakes and scorpions is made from sheep's blood. Luke 10:19

Lamb-and-Dove

More than once this week
I woke up with the song:
On the wings of a snow white dove
First thoughts when you think of a dove is the Holy Spirit and especially when Jesus was baptised.
In John 1:29 John pointed Jesus out as the Lamb of God, proven to be without flaw or lemish, ready to become the sacrifice for all the world.
Verse 32: "I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him."

This incident is a picture of the heart of God. "The lamb and the dove are surely the gentlest of all God's creatures. The lamb speaks of meekness and submissiveness and the dove speaks of peace."
"A lamb is the simplest of God's creatures. It has no schemes or plans for helping itself -it exists in helplessness and simplicity."
Jesus says in John 5:19, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner"

To have the power of the Spirit (dove) we need to have the nature of the Lamb (Jesus).
Now, He is the Lion of praise, ruling with resurrection power and we, the body of Christ, are co-rulers together with Him.

God-my-Rock

In this week I woke up with the song: "God my Rock" . So the question occurs:"Is God to you a
- Precious cornerstone
- For it stands in Scripture: "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame."

"A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence." They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.

- you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

- Don't be a stumbling block to others.

Living-with-Holy-Spirit

Last week we read in Ephesians 1:13 the Blessing of the Holy Spirit and that made me look deeper into "Living with the Holy Spirit" (not denying His presence and power-2Tim.3:5)
- He convicts the world of sin, judgement and righteousness - John 16:7-11
- He guides us to all truth and knowledge of what is to come (the righteousness of God) - John 16: 13-15
- He helps us in our weaknesses and intercedes for us - John 14:26; Romans 28:26,27
- He sanctifies and enables good fruit in our lives - Gal.5:22-25; 2 Thess.2:13; Titus 3:4-6
- He makes us new and grants us eternal life - Romans 8:10,11
- He is our seal(ownership, belonging to Christ) - Ephesians 1:13
- He is God's presence in us - 1Corinthians 3:16
- He is our source of revelation, wisdom and power - 1Corinthians 2:10; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 1:17-20
- Gives spiritual gifts to extend the Kingdom - 1Corinthians 12:7-11

Let us enjoy the benefits of living with the Holy Spirit and allow Him to fill every part of our lives.

Count-your-blessings

We are busy working through Ephesians 1 this week and I read in verse 3 about EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING.
I wanted to know more about what it entails. I then discovered that in chapter 1 of Ephesians alone you can read of about 15 blessings. Allow me to share some and count your blessings.

- I am chosen
- I am holy and blameless in His sight
- I receive His unconditional Agape Love
- Adopted as His delightful child
- Accepted and pleasing to God
- Redeemed through His blood
- My sins are forgiven
- I experience the riches of His grace (charis = that which brings pleasure and joy to the human heart, favour and super natural potency that leaves us charming and beautiful)
- All forms of wisdom and practical understanding being released
- I have an eternal inheritance
- Heard the word of truth/salvation - not left in the dark
- I have the seal of the Holy Spirit
- I know the hope of His calling
- I am His eternal reward that He cherishes
- I have His resurrection power available to me through faith

* Let us not forget to thank Him continually for His blessings on us

Fear-of-the-Lord

The fear of the Lord!?

The Hebrew word for "fear", talking about fearing God, is the word "yare". This word implies reverence and showing God the utmost respect and honor. It's having tremendous awe for Him, holding Him in high esteem, and obeying His Word.

Here are a few promises/benefits from fearing the Lord:

- "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; Psalm 111:10; Job 28:28; Isa. 33:6

- The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.
Psalms 25:14 NIV

- Your understanding of scripture is directly related to your understanding of your place before God. Proverbs 1:7

- God's mercy is extended to those who fear Him and keep His commandments.Luke 1:50

- The fear of the Lord prolongs life. Proverbs 10:27

- But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall. And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the Lord of hosts.
Malachi 4:2-3 ESV

Rest-and-Receive

The Lord is reminding us all the time about worship and thanksgiving : Philippians 4:6; Psalm 107:1; Psalm 7:17; 1 Thess. 5:18; Col. 3:15
He is longing for us to draw close to Him, to come and sit at His feet or even on His lap and allow Him to quiet us with His love Zeph. 3:17.

Surrender your anxiety. Be still and realize that I am God. I am God above all the nations, and I am exalted throughout the whole earth.
Psalm 46:10 TPT

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God- this is your true and proper worship.
Romans 12:1 NIV

And so important, to go out, bear fruit and shine your light.

Lord-do-it-again

HOPE.
The testimony of a doctor about his cancer patient so touched me. The 7th time she got cancer she prayed... "Lord do ti again!"
She said: "6 x I had cancer and 6 x I was cancer free.
I know my Lord and He knows me!"
Many times we wish to bypass the pain but God has a plan with it. He is the Potter and we are the clay and we so easily sing "mould me and shape me..."
And when He does, we say:
Stop, Lord, it hurts too much!

We need to hold on to His promises:
> "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So we an confidently say, "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?"

Limitless-God

Last week we spoke about God's blessings and that He's able to do far more than that we can imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)
BUT... we can limit God.(Psalms 78:41)

One of the ways we can limit God is by not loving Him and our neighbour as ourselves.
( Mark 12:30,31) If you don't have a personal relationship with God you won't know how much He loves you and you won't realise how special you are and the plans He has for you.(Jer 29:11)

We can also limit God by comparing ourselves (2 Corinthians 10:12 ).
He has a unique path just for you, don't disqualify yourself. Yes you should tremble a bit so that you won't rely upon your own strength.(Prov 3:5,6)
Let us focus on saying: "Yes Lord!" and allow Him to do in and through us more than we can imagine.

Blessings-for-Trusting

Please praise God with us for His blessings upon us (that is available to all who trust and obey Him) Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Psalm 2:12 KJV
Confirmed in the following Psalms: 32:1; 34:8; 40:4; 84:12; Jeremiah 17:7 and in Proverbs 20:7 even our children are blessed. Deut. 30:9,10.
Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us. Ephesians 3:20

We can really testify of the above.
Our daughter Tehillah's dream is to study at UCT for a BA in film and media but she knew since primary school that we won't be able to pay for her studies. So she started doing her best (and God will do the rest) to pursue her dreams.
She studied very hard and became the DUX learner in Gr. 7 and last year she got 7 distinctions and an average of 90.2%. She already had a bursary paying for her school fees last year and they extended it for her university studies. On top of that she was rewarded with a R 40 000 scholarship from the university.
Furthermore we had some challenges finding her the right accommodation and again God had more than we could imagine in mind. A Primary School friend of her's parents bought a flat for the 2 girls to share in Claremont. The blessings are still rolling in.

Remember: God does not have favorites.

Yesterday I was listening to a teaching on Colssians 3.
To fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, I'll forward Col.3 from the TPT. It explains it clearly.
We know that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12) but sometimes it's hard to look past the flesh and blood in front of you.

The well known Philippians 4:4 says : "Rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS!" but let's read further.
:5 Let your gentleness show in your treatment of all people.
:6 don't be anxious about anything but pray about everything with thanksgiving.
:7 THEN the peace of God that exceeds all understanding will keep your hearts and minds safe in Christ Jesus.
:8 (very important) Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind.
And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.

Christ's resurrection is your resurrection too. This is why we are to yearn for all that is above, for that's where Christ sits enthroned at the place of all power, honor, and authority!
Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm.
Your crucifixion with Christ has severed the tie to this life, and now your true life is hidden away in God in Christ. And as Christ Himself is seen for who He really is, who you really are will also be revealed, for you are now one with Him in His glory!
Live as one who has died to every form of sexual sin and impurity. Live as one who has died to the desires for forbidden things, including the desire for wealth, which is the essence of idol worship.
When you live in these vices you ignite the anger of God against these acts of disobedience.
That's how you once behaved, characterized by your evil deeds.
But now it's time to eliminate them from your lives once and for all— anger, fits of rage, all forms of hatred, cursing, filthy speech, and lying. Lay aside your old Adam-self with its masquerade and disguise.
For you have acquired new creation life which is continually being renewed into the likeness of the One who created you; giving you the full revelation of God. In this new creation life, your nationality makes no difference, nor your ethnicity, education, nor economic status—they matter nothing.
For it is Christ that means everything as he lives in every one of us!

Your-life-is-Bible

You can't hide anything from God.
Be true and honest with Him and yourself.

Last week Trevor's phone got lost and we know someone picked it up. He was using my old phone with about 11000 photos on it. I was planning to transfer the info this week.
The phone isn't locked so no privacy. It didn't feel nice but it made me think.
We serve an All knowing God who knows everything about you, what you are doing, what you are thinking but also the plans and purposes He has created you for.

Here are some powerful scriptures to remind you.
Psalm 139; Hebrews 4:13; Proverbs 15:3; Jeremiah 23:24; 2 Chronicles 16:9; Jeremiah 17:10; Matthew 6:4; Psalm 33:18; Proverbs 5:21; Psalm 33:13-15; 1 Chronicles 28:9.

So let us remember that our lives are sometimes the only bible someone reads.
Let's make people hungry to also have a relationship with the All knowing, Omni present, loving God.

But if we keep living in the pure light that surrounds him, we share unbroken fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, continually cleanses us from all sin.

Here-am-I

In a dream the Lord showed me this week that His Bride (church) is sick (in hospital) because of stress/ fear. (Matthew 10:30 Don't worry, because your Father cares deeply abaout even the smallest detail of your life)

The feast is ready but the vessels are dirty (full of idolatory and not being able to make their own decisioins - we need discernment).

God promisses that a period of infirmity has come to an end.
His church/ bride needs healing and He is asking "who shall I send?" Isaiah 6:8 to:
- Preach the good news to the poor.
- Heal the broken hearted.
- Announce feedom to all captives.
- Pardon those who are bound.
- Proclaim that the time has come when the Lord will save His people and defeat their enemies.
- Comfort those who mourn.
- Give to those in Zion (His church) joy and gladness instead of grief.
- A song of praise instead of sorrow. (Isaiah 61:1-3)

The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few. (Luke 10:2)

Then I said, "Here I am! Send me." (Isaiah 6:8)

Promises-of-Psalm-112

We've been studying Psalm 112 this week. Look at all the beautiful promises.
To the one

Jesus-the-Light

I was waiting on the Lord for Today's Blessing and the word Light kept coming up. When some Jewish guests at the Lodge asked if they could burn some candles through the night I immediately knew they were celebrating Chanukah (feast of the renewal of the temple) also known as the feast of lights/new beginnings!

In John 10:22 we read about that feast. They sang Psalm 30. Verses 11 and 12 are só beautiful: You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
In John 8:12 Jesus said, I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not be walking in the dark, but will have the Light which is Life.

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden... let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:14, 16 ESV

Let us celebrate this Christmas, JESUS, the Light of the world and obey His command and let His light shine through us.

Grace-and-intimacy

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, God is asking us to continue to grow and increase in God's grace and intimacy with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ(1 Peter 1:13) and to bestow it on others.
You can see it as "works" (fulfilling your God given purpose)

But remember the warning in 2 Peter 3:10...
and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.
and 1 Corinthians 3:12-13...And the fire will test and prove the workmanship of each builder.
In 1 Corinthians 3 we read that we are God's temple with Jesus Christ as the only foundation. We are busy building up the temple of the Lord but with what are we building?

GOLD = divine substance
SILVER = Redemption's fruit
COSTLY STONES = Transformed lives
WOOD, HAY, STRAW = Works of the flesh
WE NEED GOD'S WORK DONE GOD'S WAY

Grace-Surrender-Worship

During the last few weeks I was reminded about GRACE and what follows after you really discovered the meaning thereof for is ... WORSHIP.
I discovered this verse in the Mirror bible.
Luke 10:
21 Just then, Jesus began to leap with ecstatic joy in the Holy Spirit and burst out into praise, "Oh my Father, Lord of heaven and earth, I mirror the delight which is radiating from your countenance. You hid these things from the eloquent scholars of the day and unveiled it to babes. Yes Father, this blissful unveiling is your glory."
Why did Jesus leap with ecstatic joy?
20 But much more important than your excitement about spirits being subject to you [in my name] rejoice in the awareness that your names are engraved in the heavens. It is time for you to re-discover who you are from heavens perspective.
The other word that came to me a lot this week was SURRENDER.
So let us totally surrender to God and His plan for our lives and let us leap with joy with Jesus that our Names are engraved in the book of life.

Amazing-Grace

I couldn't but go and look deeper into the meaning of GRACE.
GRACE is a gift, it's a result of the love of God. The divine influence on God's love that witnesses to our hearts, so as to have sufficient to develop on schedule.
Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

God's GRACE is essential for everyday life and foundational to Christian faith. Acts 15:11
It fills in the areas where we fall short....IT WILL BE OK.

Grow-in-Grace

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

I stopped counting how many times in the last 12 years the Lord told me to be a woman of mercy and grace to others with the scripture 2 Peter 3:18.
But continue to grow and increase in God's grace and intimacy with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May he receive all the glory both now and forever. Amen.
Grace: the divine influence upon God's heart/love and it's reflection in your life.
In 2 Peter 3:9 we see that The Lord is not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
In verse 10 we see that there will be a fire (judgement) and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.
We need to stay pure like the few in Sardis who have remained pure, and they will walk in fellowship with me in brilliant light,(knowing your worth and purpose) for they are worthy. And the one who experiences victory will be dressed in white robes and I will never, no never erase your name from the Book of Life. I will acknowledge your name before my Father and his angels.

Self-talk-is-important

Last week we were reminded to see ourselves through God's eyes and the warning in James 1:24 not to walk away and forget what we saw. One way of doing it is through self talk.
What are you saying to yourself? I'm not worthy/too fat/too skinny/stupid/sad/tired, etc. Negative self-talk can influence your self-esteem, your outlook on life, your energy levels, your relationships, your health and very importantly your destiny.
By taking note of negative self-talk, we can begin the necessary process of interrupting this destructive habit.
It's time to silence that negative voice in our head and speak life and truth into our lives.
Prayer: Lord help me believe that I am who you say that I am, so that my heart/love, words, soul and body be relevant to my heavenly inheritance. (My name written in the Lamb's book of life.)

Swan-or-ugly-duckling

This beautiful picture of the 2 swans and their reflection in the water reminds me of the story of the "Ugly duckling" where the swan chick thought it was a duck and felt rejected the whole time until it saw its reflection in the water-seeing who it really was. When we read the Bible it should be like looking into a mirror seeing the image and likeness of Jesus in us.
But the moment one turns to the Lord with an open heart, the veil is lifted and they see. Now, the "Lord" I'm referring to is the Holy Spirit, and wherever he is Lord, there is freedom. We can all draw close to him with the veil removed from our faces. And with no veil we all become like mirrors who brightly reflect the glory of the Lord Jesus. We are being transfigured into His very image as we move from one brighter level of glory to another. And this glorious transfiguration comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Monkey-mamma-shows-love

On Friday I made a video of this monkey with her baby at the lodge where I work. Someone also reminded us this week that we are chosen and when I looked at the video a 4th time, I realised that, that is exactly what the message is.
And in love he chose us before he laid the foundation of the universe! Because of his great love, he ordained us, so that we would be seen as holy in HIS eyes with an unstained innocence.

The way the mommy monkey is adoring, loving and protecting her baby is exactly the way God feels about us.
"I love each of you with the same love that the Father loves me. You must continually let my love nourish your hearts. If you keep my commands, you will live in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands, for I continually live nourished and empowered by his love.
So this is my command: Love each other deeply, as much as I have loved you. You didn't choose me, but I've chosen and commissioned you to go into the world to bear fruit. And your fruit will last, because whatever you ask of my Father, for my sake, he will give it to you!

God-focused

Someone had a dream this week where God said:
"Tell my people to stop gazing at the deep darkness and look at ME!"

Fruit-on-the-Vine

"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do bnothing.
JOHN 15:5.

I was reminded twice this week about the well-known John 15. He is the vine and we are branches and we should bear much fruit.
Usually the pruning part stood out for me but this time something else was highlighted... that God chose to be part of the process.
A vine can't produce fruit without the branches and branches can't bear fruit without the vine.
He LONGS for an intimate relationship with us. Every day, hour, minute,second. Acknowledge Him in ALL your ways!(Proverbs 3:5)
...and the promise...
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, then you will ask for anything you WISH, and you shall have it.
John 15:7 GNT
And then another important point. The branches also need each other to bear MUCH fruit.
Matthew 18:19,20; Gal.6:2,10; Heb.10:25

Editor's note:
I was intrigued to consider the possibility that God 'needs' us for anything. God is sovereign, all-powerful, all-knowing, etc etc etc . . . after all, what is mere man?
Before God created human-kind, there was no need for fruit.
Consider Galatians 5:22,23 - each and every fruit listed is already a characteristic of God. He does not need to 'bear fruit'. He is the source of all fruit.

In Genesis, He said, "It is not good that man should be alone."
Since we are created in God's image, we are designed to have fellowship, firstly with God and secondly with our fellow beings. So human beings should serve and love each other, for the sake of His love in their hearts and fellowship with each other. NO ONE IS AN ISLAND, comes from that very design concept.
As with prayer, it seems that God, in His sovereignty, chooses to listen to our requests (with thanksgiving and in line with His will) [Phil 4:6-7].

Thus He chose to make it necessary for the branches to bear the fruit, for the benefit of others.

Down-to-go-Up

Today I read a devotion by David & Donna Haag with a powerful truth. They tell about the two Reformers, Zwingly & Luther who couldn't agree on certain points.
The answer came to Zwingly one day while looking at goats on a mountain. One goat was going up and the other down on a very narrow,steep path and couldn't pass each other. So the one going up laid down and the goat going down was able to walk over him.
The lesson: You can climb higher if you are willing to bend lower.
Jesus also showed us the example when He washed His disciples feet-even Judas'.

Utter-dependence-upon-God

When Karen Wheaton once had financial challenges she asked the Lord:
"What is the economy of the kingdom and the financial structure of heaven?" and the answer:
"Utter dependence upon God!"
If we look to the life of Jesus when He was on earth we can see His dependence on His Father. He only did what His Father told Him to do (John 5:19). He also had financial needs.
When Jesus was expected to pay tax he told Peter in Matthew 17:27 "... go to the lake and throw out your hook, and the first fish that rises up will have a coin in its mouth. It will be the exact amount you need to pay the temple tax for both of us."
God always provides exactly what you need. (Spiritual or Natural)
God delights in caring and providing for us, physically and spiritually.
Matthew 6:31-33
BUT He asks from us TOTAL commitment... Spirit, Soul & body.

God-working-in-you

Philippians 2:14
For God is working in you, to give you the desire and power to do His will.
We are praying this every day but this translation was "refreshing" to me.
Especially if you are praying it for someone else.
"Thank You Lord for WORKING in ___(name) to give him/her the DESIRE & POWER to do Your will".
We know that it is God's will that no one should perish (2 Peter 3:9) and that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
And—we know that we have what we asked of Him.

So let's keep praying and declaring God's Word/promises over that person or situation that you are trusting the Lord for.

kept ringing in my ears & the song "WayMaker" says it all.

Our-inheritance

Yesterday, Heritage Day was celebrated and that made me think of our heritage in Christ.
The song "My Dad is the King" came to mind. The words "I'm an heir to the King" made me ponder on thát fact.
We are co-heirs with Christ, having everlasting life - hallelujah.

And he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

Shower-us-with-Love

This week a friend reminded me that God wants us to seek HIS face...don't seek a husband / wife / wealth / health but first seek Him (Matt 6:33). It so So well known to us but do we really do that?
We have the provilege to stay in another beauuuuuuutiful environment and I love to seek the big creatures....the elephants, rhinos, hippos, etc.
This morning (Saturday) I came to work earlier to be able to come to a quiet place for the "Blessing" and on my way a little buck crossed the road.
I immediately started searching the bush for more animals and then it hit me again.
You'll have MUCH MORE joy and pleasure when you first seak the Creator before you seek the creation!
(Jeremiah 29:13; Hebrews 4:16)
So what a joyful, peaceful, uplifting time I had as God quieted me with His Love.
The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

Harvest-of-100

The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,

We received so many confirmations this week of the TIME we are in and to really stop procrastinating, lingering, having excuses.
To make room for the Lord because He came to
set captives FREE
Give SIGHT to the blind
TO bring liberty to the bruised and salvation to ALL man kind! The Lord says:"I AM who I say I AM! " (Luke 4:18,19)

In a dream Trevor had, the Lord reminds us that He has great and marvelous things in store for us to discover what no eye has seen or ear has heard ( Micha 7:15; Jer. 33:3; 1 Corinthians 2:9) but that we must resist the devil and his lies and he will flee. (James 4:7,8)
Remember the parable of the seed and sower - don't let the devil steal your destiny, make sure your soul is fertile and will produce a 100 x harvest, get understanding, rejoice in God's promises, persevere & overcome,
but also keep sowing the seeds no matter when and where ( Luke 9:26; Matthew 24:13,14)
because Jesus said:"... as the Father sent me I send you." Return to a position of honouring God. Get rid of religious traditions & bad habits and enjoy the fullness God has for you. (2 Peter 1:3-4)

Fruit-from-Spring-blossoms

This week we entered into a NEW season...SPRING.
It reminds us of new life springing forth like blossoms on a fruit tree. In Luke 6:44 we are reminded that each tree is known by its own fruit.
In Afrikaans we say: "Wat die hart van vol is loop die mond van oor!" (Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks)
God searches our hearts (Psalm 44: 21; Jer. 17:10)
In Psalm 62:12 we read that God will repay us for our work.
So my desire is that we will allow the Holy Spirit to work in us to will and to do so that we can bear much fruit ( love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control Gal. 5:22-23; Ephesians 5:9)
By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.

Depend-on-the-Lord

About a month ago we saw a clip where Leonie received a message that Jesus Himself delivered to her and I believe it's HOPE for all of us.
Everyone listening to it should get inspiration so please allow me to share my revelation (Deut.29:29)
Having all authority the God Head is saying :
It's important for us to WAIT/depend on the Lord, before we act. We will not be able to handle situations in our own strength.
Bring us back, O God! Show us your mercy, and we will be saved!

The Lord also reminded me again this morning that we as followers and believers in Jesus Christ should GROW in the grace & knowledge of our Lord and Saviour.

The Lord reminded me in a dream this week about the following truths:

Jesus is our Rock & Foundation upon Whom our faith is built.
We need firmness in our faith.
And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Mercy...He doesn't want anyone to be lost. He hears your cry! For the Lord hears the poor and needy and despises not His prisoners (His miserable and wounded ones).

We've been working through Psalm 91 this week. It's been such a comforting Psalm especially during the last few years.

Celebrate-His-goodness

Today I invite you to celebrate with us the goodness of our God. As most of you know the Lodge where we stayed and where I worked has been sold now and we had just 2 weeks to get off the premises with nowhere to go. Throughout the selling period (more than a year) people would ask us 'but where are you going' and my answer would always be: "We don't have a plan but God has and we are WAITING for Him to reveal the plan". I must confess that like Abraham and Sarah with Ishmael, I tried to make plans and applied for available positions but with no success.
And that is where FAITH & PATIENCE came in.
2 weeks ago the Lord revealed our beautiful new home to us (7km from St Lucia) and I was supposed to finish at the Lodge on Friday, but Tuesday I received a call to start at The Forrest Lodge & Villas, in St Lucia, on Wednesday. Hallelujah!

El-Shaddai

The All-Sufficient One. This week Esté Geldenhuys reminded me of the wonderful meaning of the word EL-SHADDAI. While she was visiting Israel someone gave her their understanding of the word SHADDAI.
SHADDAI is the One in whom you take refuge while you wait for His provision!
REFUGE: A hiding place where you are safe and provided for.
Don't just focus on what you need or what you are waiting for but rest in Him - El Shaddai - your Refuge while you wait.

Friend-of-God

Intimacy with God cannot be stressed enough. The Lord again this morning reminded me that He WANTS to have intimacy with us. 1 Corinthians 1:9
"koinōnia"=fellowship. He wants to be part of every single thing in your life (big or small) Proverbs 3:6
James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.
TRUST is a very important key in intimacy.

Let's strive to have a relationship with God like Moses and the disciples where God will say to us...

Guard-your-heart

Youth pastor Chase from The Ramp Church Hamelton had a dream this week that is a warning to us all. In the dream Jesus is warning us that there is a BIG storm coming (already started) and "another wave" of FEAR - through the media.
Jesus, in the dream, shows the way of escape...
* Guard YOUR heart
* FULLY GIVEN
In the dream yellow snakes represented fear and it was EVERYWHERE. Jesus instructed to get rid of them all at once (not one by one) but how? Perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18)
How do we guard our hearts from the sound waves?
By keeping fear out !! Romans10:17 "Faith comes by hearing" What are you hearing and believing?
John 10 ...My sheep know My voice...
Don't let the enemy's voice become more familiar to you than the Shepherd's voice. To prevent that from happening you need to be FULLY GIVEN! (INTIMACY WITH GOD)
Be encouraged.... In the dream Jesus was standing in the fire on prayer mountain, smiling! No fear in the storm!

Truth-defends

1 Peter 5:8 reminds us to ... Be well balanced and always alert, because your enemy, the devil, roams around incessantly, like a roaring lion looking for its prey to devour.
The devil doesn't want us to fulfill our God given purpose. In John 10:10 we read that the devil has come to steal, kill and destroy but there is an answer: JESUS! and He is the WORD. 1 Corinthians 10:13
He promised to show us the way of escape and that we will not be tested beyond what we can handle.
One very important way to keep standing against the enemy is found in Ephesians 6. The armour of God. The first weapon we see is TRUTH. We are living in a time right now where it's hard to distinguish what is lies and what is truth.
A question to ask is: Does it bring freedom or bondage? Peace or fear?
One person standing up for the truth and saving hundreds of lives is Dr. Zelenco. He passed away 30 June 2022. May his good work carry on.

I recently had the privilege of meeting Dr. Vladimir Zelenka and hearing him speak. An observant Jew, he talked to a packed house in a Christian church. He moved the audience, many to tears, with his gentle courage, his humanity and his wisdom. To be there and to share a stage with this dear man was such an honor. Godspeed.

Trust-in-the-Lord

So many times I catch myself asking: "Lord, what must I do to get healed, etc" and it was só good to have been reminded this week that the answer is "JESUS HAS DONE It ALL!!!"
But if you dig a little deeper, aren't the following words "doing" words?
TRUST/ BELIEVE/EMBRACE/OBEY
You need to embrace what the Lord reveals to YOU!
Jeremiah 17:5 - 7 & Proverbs 3:5 - 8 jump up again...
TRUST in the LORD with ALL your heart; DON'T rely on your OWN intelligence. KNOW HIM in all your paths, and he will keep your ways straight. Don't consider yourself wise. Fear the LORD and turn away from evil. Then your body will be HEALTHY and your bones strengthened.
Proverbs 3:5-8 CEB
And without FAITH it is impossible to please God,
Hebrews 11:6 NIV
Remember: God sees you as... holy and faultless and irreproachable in His presence.

Fathers-Day-Prayer

On this Father's Day I just want to bring honor and glory to our Heavenly Father. I want to thank Him for His unconditional love for us. We can bring Him honor & glory by bringing our "language" into alignment with His. Let's speak Heaven's language, the language of faith.
Change your words and you will change your world.
Let's remember the Shunammite woman in 2 Kings 4. While her son was dead on Elisha's bed, she still said:"It is well!"
And never let ugly or hateful words come from your mouth, but instead let your words become beautiful gifts that encourage others; do this by speaking words of grace to help them.
Ephesians 4:29 TPT
God, give me grace to guard my lips from speaking what is wrong.

A Prayer For Fathers
God our Father,
In Your wisdom and love You made all things,
Bless those fathers who have taken upon themselves the responsibility of parenting.
Bless those who have lost a spouse to death, separation or divorce, and who are parenting their children alone.
Strengthen all Dads by Your love that they may become the loving, caring persons they are meant to be.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.

Glory-to-God

Waiting on the Lord for Today's Blessings, the words "Gee aan God die eer!" and the song "You deserve the glory" came to mind.
First you may think to give God glory and honor would only be through words - yes, that is very important (Psalm 29:23) but digging deeper it's much more than that.
1 Corinthians 6:20 "For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."
Proverbs 3:9 "Honor the LORD with your substance, and with the first fruits of all your increase:"
1 Corinthians 10:31 "Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God. You need to realise who He is and what He has done for yoú before you will be able to honor and glorify Him.
Isaiah 25:1 "O LORD, you art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise your name; for you hast done wonderful things; your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth."
The promise... John 12:26 "If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honor."
Revelation 14:7 "Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgement is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."
Philippians 2:11 "And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

Holy-Spirit-upper-room

In 2010 I had the privilege to visit Israel. One of the most powerful experiences I had was in the Upper room.
There I heard the Aaron blessing for the first time in Hebrew. Wow!!!
The Holy Spirit didn't change, the same resurrection power is still available and at work in and through us if we'll allow Him.
In John 14 Jesus reminds us that "I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
Also that ,"whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father."
What an awesome promise! We don't have to wait for "One day!" Because they are ONE Jesus IS "back" and we can have life in abundance... John 10:10.
Peoples "last words" are always very important to us and we usually try to honor them so lets take Jesus' last words seriously:
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 ESV

Open-your-mouth

When we read during the week Psalm 81:10 in the ESV "Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it." I thought cool, just relax and receive, but when I read it from the TPT "I am your only God, the living God. Wasn't I the one who broke the strongholds over you and raised you up out of bondage? Open your mouth with a mighty decree; I will fulfill it now, you'll see! The words that you speak, so shall it be!"
I REALISED for a time such as this, ACTION is necessary (Isaiah 60:1-3 Ephesians 6:10-13).
Yes, He will provide in our every need but He also wants us to speak life and proclaim His promises. (Proverbs 18:21; Isaiah 62:6)
The video Paul sent about the passed out pilot and how the guy had to trust and listen to the person guiding him to land the plane safely, just confirmed that we need to trust God fully and obey Him. (Hebrews 3:15)
Don't allow fear and don't look at the storm around us. (Isaiah 35:4; John 14:27; 2 Timothy 1:17)
Isaiah 43:1-5 He'll be going with us through the storm.
Romans 8: 31-39. Nothing can separate us from Him.

My-darling

During the week I twice had the urge to go and read Songs of Solomon from the TPT translation. So I went and looked for a quiet spot and allowed the Holy Spirit to minister to me.
It was so comforting. (Last weeks song... Just be held)
I encourage you to do the same.
Allow God to express His love to you.
You may feel unworthy like the Shulamite in 1:5 but look to how the Lord sees you in verse 9,10,15 & 2:2,14...you are so lovely / thrilling to Me!
In 2:10 He invites us you come away with Him to the higher place.
He also asks us to catch(for me it means identify) the troubling foxes that hinder our relationship, that ruin what He has planted in us. (for example faith, not fear)
and the best of all He says :" we'll do it together".

Mothers-Day-Prayer

Because we celebrate the Mothers and people representing mothers in our lives I went to look at some mothers in the Bible and the golden thread I see is FAITH.
Many of them were barren and trusting the Lord for a son.
Sarah, Abraham's wife, Rebecca, her daughter in law, Hannah, mother of Samuel, Elizabeth, mother of John the baptist, Samson's mother. I'm sure you all know what important role these men played in our Christian history. Even Ruth, mother of Obed, who rejected her beliefs to follow and trust the only Living God. And Bathsheba, who even through the sorrow of losing a husband and a baby, stayed loyal to David and became the mother of the great king Solomon.
All of the 5 women listed in the Messiah's ancestry (Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, Mary: Matthew 1)can testify of hardship and squeezing, like all of us, but we can learn from them...
FAITH & PATIENCE (Hebrews 6:12)in a Living God that has beautiful plans for us... to prosper and not to harm us. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Not-alone-help-others

What struck me today is that when the Israelites were rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem with Nehemiah they were in a war situation.
They had to build with a weapon in one hand (Nehemiah 4:17)... a team effort.
They couldn't do it alone.
When we are being in "war", attacked, going through squeezings, we tend to think it's just for us and our growth (Romans 3:3-5) but lets look at 2 Corinthians 1:3,4
All praises belong to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he is the Father of tender mercy and the God of endless comfort. He always comes alongside us to comfort us in every suffering so that we can come alongside those who are in any painful trial.
We can bring them this same comfort that God has poured out upon us.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 TPT So let us, the living temples of the Lord, build each other up.

Be-Alert-and-Watchful

Having to be at work today, I was sitting in the beautiful garden of the lodge, watching the live streaming of Choose life, preaching on 1 Peter. When pastor John came to verse 8,9 of chapter 5 my spirit leapt. I knew straight away that was the Blessing for today.
Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Be firm in your faith and resist him, because you know that other believers in all the world are going through the same kind of sufferings. 1 Peter 5:8-9 GNT
1 Peter 5 is soooo relevant for the time we're in.
Yes, believers (all people) in ALL the world are going through the same suffering at the moment.
Verses 2,3... many church leaders are mislieading the flock. Also see Ezekiel 34.
So what do we need to do?
Humble ourselves.
CAST our cares (concerns, anxiety, worry, distractions) on Him.
Be strong in your faith, resist the devil...
We have authority over him because Jesus already defeated him (Luke 9:1, 10:19; James 4:7; 2 Corinthians 2:11)
And then...
after your brief suffering, the God of all loving grace, who has called you to share in his eternal glory in Christ, will personally and powerfully restore you and make you stronger than ever. Yes, He will set you firmly in place and build you up.

Labour-day-rest

1st of May, Worker's Day!
It made me think about "workers" & "bosses" and what God says about it in the Word.
I think the 2 most important scriptures are Matthew 22:37 The Great commandment to love God and your neighbor as yourself and the Golden rule “Do for others what you want them to do for you: Matthew 7:12
Ecclesiastes 3:12,13 says we must take pleasure in our work but we can only do that if we follow the advice in 1 Corinthians 10:31 & Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,"
In Ephesians 4:29; 1 Thessalonians 5:11; Romans 14:19; Psalm 34:14 we are reminded to build each other up and pursue peace Hebrews 12:14.
Therefore James 1:19 instructs us "let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger"
Most of all... Let's follow the example of Jesus:
“Every day my Father is at work, and I will be, too!” John 5:17 & Matthew 20:25-28 " even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve,"
And remember... when we stay in God's will & purpose for our lives we will run and not be weary, walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
But if you ARE weary He invites you to come to Him and He will give you rest and lead you back to His will for your life. Matthew 11:28.

Arise-and-Shine

"ARISE AND SHINE FOR YOUR LIGHT HAS COME"...
Do these words sound familiar?
Yes, that's the way my beloved husband ends his daily messages.
Isaiah 60:1 AMP "Arise [from spiritual depression to a new life], shine [be radiant with the glory and brilliance of the Lord]; for your light has come, And the glory and brilliance of the Lord has risen upon you."
This week Tommy Evans encouraged us that the Lord is anointing people, in these dark times we are facing, to be carriers of His manifest presence in such a way that no one will be able to refute it. All you need to do to receive it is your hunger for it. A hunger for Acts 15 where people got healed when Peter's shadow fell on them or when handkerchiefs that touched Paul were taken to the sick or demon possessed people and they got healed (Acts 19:12).
So let's arise and shine and allow God's GLORY to manifest through us.

Relationship

During the week Jeremiah 17:5-8 came to mind again. That we are CURSED if we trust in man but BLESSED if we trust God.
That brought up the question about curses versus blessings. Proverbs 26:2 An undeserved curse will be powerless to harm you.
Then the question arose- when do I deserve a curse?
You can open a door when you are disobedient to God's voice. Psalm 95:6,7
Today we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. He paid the price to have a personal relationship with you. He knows the way you should go.
Talk to Him, make time to LISTEN and obey and He will show you if there is an open door and how to get back in His will and purpose for your life.

Palm-Sunday

Today many churches celebrate Palm Sunday as the day Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey.
Some facts:
It's a fulfillment of the prophecy in Zechariah 9:9
That's the way a peaceful King entered a city.
War hero's entered cities on horses.
Donkeys were associated with common people.(1 Corinthians 1:26)
It was God's way of saying that He came as King who will serve and save the oppressed.
Unused animals were especially suitable for religious purposes (1 Samuel 6:7)
The spreading of cloaks on the ground was also done for Kings. (2 Kings 9:13)
Palm leaves symbolized triumph and victory.
So with this in mind when we remember what Jesus has done for us on the cross, let us also remember that we are raised with Him and are seated at the right hand of God. (Ephesians 2:4-6)
Revelation 1:6 He made you a king and priest unto God.
