Philippians 3 - Colossians 4   202306 Jun

Great is Your faithfulness

With a grateful heart for answered prayer, I was waiting on the Lord for Today's Blessing and the song "Great is Thy faithfulness" came to mind.
The song says it all.
Praise God

Here are the scriptures behind the song, Great is Thy faithfulness:

- Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.
Psalm 143:8
- Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8
- If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9
- His massive arms are wrapped around you, protecting you. You can run under his covering of majesty and hide. His arms of faithfulness are a shield keeping you from harm.
Psalms 91:4
- God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Corinthians 1:9

Found what was Lost

I'm sure all of us at some point, lost or misplaced something valuable/important.

We've experienced it twice this week when Trevor lost the bakkie's keys while running and his teeth at the beach.
Praise God both were found.
That made us think about what to do when things get lost...

It doesn't matter if it's keys, teeth, glasses or our joy, faith, peace, etc...
Pray, Return, Seek & Rejoice with thanksgiving.

- God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1
- I trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding. In all my ways I acknowledge Him and He directs my paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
- I shall hear a word behind me, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,”
Isaiah 30:21
- The Lord will guide me continually.
Isaiah 58:11
- Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7
- Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
John 16:24
- Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Philippians 4:6

It's so awesome to ponder on the fact that we also once where lost and now we're found.

HALLELUJAH!

- For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.

Fathers Day 2023

The way my son and son in law is looking at their children, proud and in awe is exactly the way Abba Father looks at you, His child, in - in Christ. (Eph 1:4)

Love that is unconditional

Still focusing on God's unconditional love for me, He reminded me of a few things this week.
I'm sure that all of you who are the youngest siblings have experienced that at some time or other your elder sibling was punished for something you were guilty of! That's what Jesus did for us.

- But he was wounded for our rebellions; he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and by his stripes healing was provided for us.
Isaiah 53:5 JUB
- Both Jesus who sanctifies and those who are sanctified [that is, spiritually transformed, made holy, and set apart for God's purpose] are all from one Father; for this reason He is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,
Hebrews 2:11 AMP
- For God shows no partiality [no arbitrary favoritism; with Him one person is not more important than another].
Romans 2:11 AMP
- And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.

Waiting for Christ

I listened to a sermon by Louis Giglio and that phrase "People are waiting for Christ but He is waiting for you" caught my attention.
Immanuel - God WITH us!

A few examples from the Bible that shows Jesus is already here, waiting for us...
- When the angels told the Shepherds about Jesus, He was already there.
- When Mary was at the empty grave He was there, waiting for her, saying: "I'm here, I'm an overcomer, I'm able".
- When Jesus waited on the beach with breakfast for the disciples he was saying to Peter: "I forgive you".
- When the Samaritan woman came to the well Jesus was waiting for her, saying: "I can give you more than what you are looking for".
- Jesus says to you and me today: "I'm here, I am with you, I am what you are looking for and I am waiting to bless you!"
John 14:22-23; Is.30:18; 2 Petr. 3:9; Ps 46:1; 1 John 5:19,20.

Thoughts like sand grains

Whilst resting on Sodwana Beach on our way from Kosi Bay looking at sand slipping through my fingers the following scripture came to mind: Psalm 139:17,18

The Lord has been mindful of us: he will bless us; He will bless those that fear the Lord, both small and great.
Psalm 115:12-13
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord.
Is. 55:8
For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,' says the Lord, 'plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Jer.29:11

And our thoughts?
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us Ephesians 3:20
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know.
Proverbs 3:5
Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm.
Col. 3:2
